I got deferred from LMU CA as part of the film major and they requested to see my fall semester grades before making a final decision. I currently have 2 regular As and 3 Bs in my AP classes. How does this look to the school? Is it good and challenging? Obviously, As look better. One of them could possibly change to an A.
Also, if one of the AP classes gets a C but everything else is fine, how could this affect my chances?
Thanks.
3 AP B’s and 2 Regular A’s is a 4.0 Weighted GPA.
Pretty good. How does it look to LMU? Depends on what the courses are and how they relate to your film major. Film has the lowest acceptance rate(20%) at LMU according to the guy that gave the talk during our tour there. Getting B’s in AP courses is not optimal but shows your willingness to challenge yourself. I believe that it’s better than getting an A in the regular version of the course. Getting a C on an AP shows that you bit off more than you could chew. Nobody in here can really guess your chances without knowing the complete profile, but I in terms of the grades you are doing “OK”.
