AL34 - Great news!!! What state are you from?

OOS, Illinois. No scholarship mention, letter arrived today postmarked Feb. 22. status remains as above!
DS will not be attending, with no mention of scholarship this is far more costly than the majority of his schools. Will reject his acceptance soon to (hopefully) open a spot for one of you.

I had “carefully considered” and was waitlisted yesterday.

The scholarship and honors letters, at least last year, did not come with the acceptance letter. Wait a few days and they may arrive. And last year when the website said “a decision has been made” it meant that it was a wait-list or denial. Sorry. And AL34, it seems like you are taking this personally, but with 35,000 applicants how can you?

Not taking it personally at all - DS got in to his applied department so what’s to be upset about? :)

Fact is though, in the time it took for UM to get his acceptance out he was fortunate enough to receive many good offers with high merit $, incl. one full- and one close to full tuition awards within honors programs so UM has dropped from the list. If something amazing comes in in the next week I can see him reconsidering it, but have not seen that UM offers similar packages to what he has been receiving.

Best to all who got it and/or waitlisted, if UM didn’t have a lot to offer then DS would not have applied.

^ Wow thats great. I should have put a stop to my sons dream to go to a big ten. There are so many great schools out there, for so much less. Now its too late.

So I’m a transfer applicant, not freshman applicant, and mine says “carefully considered” since the 26th. before that, it said “under review” for a week, then before that until mid-Feb, “we begin reviewing transfer applicants for fall 2010 on 1/1/10, check back then” or something along those lines.

So from what I’ve read here, I should know what happens within a few days? Is the consensus that “carefully considered” is a good thing?

My APAS report (unofficial transcripts for the UofM) has ALL my potentially transferred classes (IE the ones I’m in now at my current school) on it as if they’ve been transferred and I’ve been accepted. Don’t what to think about that.

^ Carefully considered is NOT neccesarily a good thing. All the students who got waitlisted got that status as well.

aaaaand just got the letter. Waitlisted. ugh

Shoot. I’m a transfer student also and my status is “carefully considered”… I hope I won’t be waitlisted fingers crossed

I still have the status of “carefully considered” but got a rejection letter in the mail today.

I haven’t heard anything yet, but my app status doesn’t say “carefully considerred” anymore; today it changes to “We have forwarded your application to the college for review. If you have questions about the status of your application, please contact the Carlson School of Management directly”

Does anyone have this message? I submitted my app on 11/16 before the priority deadline, but still haven’t received my decision yet. I have received an acceptance to Binghamton SOM, but still have not decided which one is better UM Carlson or Bing SOM.

The waiting is dragging soooooooooo long.

^You really think Binghamton and Carlson are on the same level?

I have been in the US for only one and a half year, and that’s why I don’t really know. Based on the national universities rankings of USnews, UM is ahead of Bing, but according to the undergrad biz programs rankings of Businessweek Bing SOM is way ahead of UM SOM. That’s why I am so confused. Would you like to tell me please…
