Know someone in Idaho who made it with a 208

Yay! That’s what we’ve been waiting to hear - thanks for posting about the 208 in Idaho. Daughter got 210 - now mom can relax a bit… :)

My son found out yesterday he’s a SF with a 219 in NY.

Am I the only one who hasn’t got a letter yet? I got a 224 in TN, which meets the SF cutoff. I’m homeschooled, which might have something to do with it.

International cut-off suggests values for some other regions that usually have high cut-offs (DC, MA). But let’s wait until those regions confirm.

Congrats IDmom and daughter!!!

If you were looking at the paper as you posted this, and it had been 30 minutes before I posted that I saw it, then it is evident that I made an error. I must have seen 235 instead of 236 for the 1 score. Also, my score was 218, which I thought had a cumulative number of 246, but I am apparently mistaken.

Thanks! Now it would be nice to get the official notification from the school…

Made it in Oklahoma with a 208.

DD is definitely a semi-finalist with a 220 (New York)…still hasn’t started school this year, but college counselors’ office told me on the phone today. Guess we’ll get the packet sometime in the future.

Updating OK

Our guidance office received them but seems to have “misplaced” them. I’m in SC with a 212 so I’m kind of nervous.

Can anyone lower CT? I am sitting at 221 and no one in my school has heard anything from GC.

Hi we are in OR, so far no packet received in our school. Does this mean there is no semi in our school?

Congrats IDmon and daughter. My son couldn’t get Idaho school counselor to say what cutoff was- said she didn’t know. thank goodness for CC so you could find out.

*Our guidance office received them but seems to have “misplaced” them. I’m in SC with a 212 so I’m kind of nervous. *

OMG…if they can’t find them soon, they need to contact NMCorp for a new set. (Amazing that some GC offices can be soooo incompetent with important docs!!)

Anyway…for South Carolina…

That author on the other thread wrote that South Carolina dropped to 211. So, even if her company’s math is slightly wrong, I would imagine that it could only be off 1 point either way. Right?

*However, I can tell you with 99.5% certainty that these scores will probably stay as is…[the cutoffs] are based on the percentiles from the PSAT test results that were given out to students in December 2009. The top students in each state qualify for the National Merit Semi-Finalist distinction. *

So, it looks like they did the math based on PSAT score results from last Dec and calculated where the top 1% cutoff would be for each state.

Just got my envelope today! 4 other people in a class of 400+ got them.

Got the national merit paperwork today… in with a 226 in NY.

The Dean told me the cutoff for NY is 217, 943/16000 were selected in this state.

Got the paper today… the WI cutoff must be 208 or 209 because my friend with a 207 didn’t make it :(

Luckily I did make it with a 216 About 10 other people in my class of 90 made it o.o

Can anyone confirm the cutoff for New York was indeed 217? I’m waiting here with a 218, so I’m slightly anxious. Especially since I saw the guidance counsellor hand out a packet to an individual with a 224. However, my school has multiple guidance counsellors and maybe mine was waiting until the meeting we have next Tuesday?

Thanks for the update, though. It makes me feel slightly better, haha.
