Spazzy: Wait until next Wednesday and call the NMSC directly with your query. They should be freely releasing information and answering all questions by then. You will probably expedite things if you have your registration number available when you call.

It is unfortunate your school is not doing this for you. Please let us know what you find out.

Confirming VA, my son got a 218, and GC confirmed in e-mail that he made it! Woot! She did not say what the cut-off was.

Spazzy, I totally agree with Descartez. Good luck and hope it gets resolved. I don’t like it when schools are not proactive in situations like this.

VA, 218. Made it. Just got notified by my GC today and the application is due back to the school tomorrow!

Michigan update - son is in with 211! I am also about 99 percent sure a friend of his, who is also in, scored a 210 in MI.

99% is good enough for our purposes.

I saw on the National Merit website that we were supposed to give the application back to the school by tomorrow, but I haven’t even been notified yet. I’m pretty sure I made the cutoff though. My school is always really irresponsible with this stuff. Is there a way to find out, etc. from a source other than my school?

kwalker – the date of September 10 “or another date specified by school”. I’m pretty sure my daughter said the stuff doesn’t have to be at NMSF until some time time in October. The press release from them will come out September 15…I’m assuming at that point, if you haven’t heard from your school, you could call them…or check your local news media.

I got it with 215 in MN

Manu101, I was about the ask the same thing.

Anyone with confirmation of NY’s cutoff?

I couldn’t wait any longer and e-mailed one of the GCs. The only response I got was the school will announce the semifinalists in the “next few weeks.” Pretty encouraging:(

Hey, I’m back! Received word of my semi-finalist status today, so I can reconfirm that the cut-off for Maryland is 220.
