Video chatted my admissions counselor yesterday, she doesn’t even know. She was being brutally honest and said that as of now, class 2025 is relatively full and confirmed once there’s waitlist movement, they can start accepting, but she doesn’t know when or how many people.
and also, when they give an email stating “thank you for submitting your response” after u complete the survey, they usually say “we are optimistic that we will accept a number of students from the waitlist,” but they stopped sayin that
Thanks for that info. We’ve started to let go of Case Western. It’s sad, but at least we have an excellent alternative. I’m sorry for those who might not.
I know this is reading into this a little far but if she said “relatively full”, there must be some spaces still available right? It’s not that they have 0 spaces?
I understand why you’re reading into it! Any glimpse of hope excites us, but I have no idea. as an admission counselor, she emphasized that she doesn’t know little to nothing about the numbers. She says the higher ups have the data, but she doesn’t which maybe she knows but maybe she’s not allowed to disclose. I have no idea ahhh
@sher13 are you saying 100 total? or 100 more?
Based on past years if they are offering Spring acceptance they think that there are very good students they would like to be part of the class but they just don’t have the room…There may be a few more acceptances if currently enrolled students back out but I would guess that would be minimal.
As I was recently accepted off the waitlist, I can tell you my stats and hopefully it will let you know where you might stand.
I used to play soccer at a really high level; I was given offers from D1 schools and I was confident that I could try playing at an academically prestigious D3 school. Because of this, I ended up taking my ACT early and scoring a 34. However, I was not able to go to any ID camps so I had to give up my dreams on collegiate soccer (but that is a whole other story…).
I did not have the strongest GPA in high school, mostly because of the amount of time and travelling needed for my soccer level. I had around a 3.8 weighted for my Freshman to Junior grades. However, I showed a clear upward trend to my admissions counselor for my Senior grades when I dropped soccer, showing nearly all A’s while taking multiple advanced courses.
I do not think my grades and standardized test scores were what made me get off the list. I made sure to attend as many webinars as I could while also staying very proactive with my admissions officer, giving as many academic updates as possible.
I’ve only heard Spring acceptances. My good friend’s son is currently on Case waitlist and would normally have chosen option for Spring ‘22 but has already taken gap year and is beyond ready to begin college, so chose only Fall ‘21. I feel for him and all of you…such a difficult time especially since all of you had your high school senior year affected as well!
Your soccer dream is not dying. Having been recruited by D1 schools, you should have no problem making Case’s soccer team. Shoot the coach an email and you should be able to get a good response.
I know that a lot of brilliant athletes can manage to balance college level academics and sports at the same time. Recently, I learned that I am not one of those people. I aim to go to graduate school, so I plan to pool all my efforts into academics.
I will most certainly try to get exercise with the intramural or club sports however!
I feel the same way about track and field. I compared my stats with current athletes for the track team, and I could make the team, but I don’t want to run in college. I can’t balance it. I would like to think I would be accepted if I ran for them, but that’s in another life haha
