How hard is it to get accepted if UCI is selective in this program? She got in at UCI last week. She got rejected at UCLA for the same program. Accepted at UCSD - Sixth College. Accepted at UC Davis - BIO. Accepted at USD-Presidential Scholarship, Seattle University Nursing Program - Trustee Scholarship. Now it seems like she's not sure now where to go. BSN it is but UCSD does not have the program.

well i must unfortunately shed light that it is indeed somewhat EASY to get into the nursing major

my stats:

GPA: 3.29(weighted)
SAT: 1920
SAT2 Math: 620
SAT2 US hist: 510

EC: Volunteered at hospital for 150hours

i think what helped me the most were my essays, and my reccomendation

but from what i am told, all Nursing majors are very difficult to get in, i had looked at CAL States previously for the nursing major, and they have limited seating.
my best guess for the ease of entry for the major as a freshman can be attributed to the new ness of the major, and lack of applicants.

i am pretty confident that had this not been the first year of the major, there would be many more applicants. this is my opinion..but grats on entry

Since nursing is new it feels like just another major on campus. It should be as easy to get in as most majors.

If it was SELECTIVE, I am assuming it's harder to get into. Here are the schools she got into:
NROTC-Full ride scholarship $180,000 Nurse Corps (will use in Seattle U if she goes)
University of Rochester - Kodak Leadership Scholarship
USF
Seattle University - Trustee Scholarship/SU Grants - $20K/Yr
USD - Presidential Scholarship $30K/yr
UCDavis - Undergraduate Scholarship
UCSD- Grants
UCI
Dominican University - School of Nursing 30K/yr (she does not want to go here)
Santa Clara University - $15K/yr
San Jose State University - Nursing Program

There are only 2 UC's that offer Nursing Program - BSN, UCLA and Irvine.
