SDSU scholarship? Nursing schools CAUSF, CSULB, CSUF, USF

Hello! I’ve a daughter who was accepted to the SDSU nursing school as an in state incoming freshman. We estimate that we’ll be getting little financial aid so we’re researching any scholarships or grants. Do you think it’s worth it to pay the $400 intent to enroll so we can apply for the OFAS through the new SDSU portal? I know it’s a very vague question with a lot of factors, but any advice would be very helpful. She was also accepted at USF (merit scholarship), but without SDSU help, the cost would be almost the same for both colleges. She didn’t make the deadline (we didn’t know about it) for the WHC scholarship, but plans to apply to WHC in case anything opens up. Thanks in advance for any advise.

Weighted GPA: 4.5
SAT: 1510

Schools applied to:
UCLA - not accepted
UCI - not accepted to school of nursing, but accepted as public health major
UC Berkeley - accepted today but no undergrad nursing
USF - accepted direct nursing
Dominican - accepted direct nursing
CSULB - accepted direct nursing (applied for President’s scholarship)
CSUF - pending

Congratulations on your daughter’s amazing achievements.
I would also post your question on the nursing major forum as there may be good advice there.
When weighing up costs between UF and San Diego State , I would check into housing costs after first year ( I have a feeling USF only guarantees campus housing for 1 year). Also how much will their tuition and fees increase annually? Also if your daughter would qualify for a job on campus to help meet costs. Best of luck to her!

Does CSULB offer direct admit for Nursing now?

No, they don’t.

I was mistaken. Sorry.

Did your daughter’s CSUF portal say anything?

Yesterday she received an email to check her portal and her major was changed from nursing to undeclared so we’re assuming she didn’t get in to the nursing program after she submitted her video interview.

Mine was changed to undeclared as well. Was there a waitlist this year?

I didn’t hear of one. Please post if you get any new info. Thanks.
