D in a class for IGETC

Hello everyone, I'm in need of some honest opinions...

So I just applied to UCD, UCSC, UCM, and UCR. I currently have a 3.2 GPA...major prep completed by spring...strong ecs and work experience...however I've come to the harsh realization that I'm likely going to get a D in my Spanish 1 class. Not only is this horrible for my GPA, but it automatically will cause me to be unable to complete the foreign language requirement for IGETC. (no high school languages, and even if I retake it I will not be able to complete the second required level. :( And in addition to it all, on the application I checked the "IGETC will be completed" box. (prior to the knowledge of my situation, of course.)

What do you guys think my chances are of still getting into one of these schools despite my horrible dilemma? Could it be forgiven considering my other/stronger attributes?

To be on the safe side I've also applied to SF State, SJ State, CSU East Bay, and Sacramento State. Should I be worried about these schools too?

Thanks everybody, any opinion helps!

i also got a D in my Music Class which is Art area 3A. my counselor told me that UC and CSU accept a D for transfer. idk…lol

Can you retake the course in Spring? If you show them that you are retaking it, you may be alright. You should consider all alternatives to getting a D in the class first though. Try to petition for a late withdrawal, or just study extra hard and get a C. Good luck!

I don’t believe you get credit for D’s

how do u fail spanish one? but yah as long as ur gpa is over 3.0 and u retake the class you should be fine

I say as long as you have above 3.0,a lot of major prequisites done, and be near the 60 unit required for transfer, you should be fine.
