D in AP English will I still be able to go to SJSU?

In my first semester, I recieved an A in my AP English Class. However (due to conflicting schedule and stress of all of my ECs clashing into eachother) in my second semester, I survived with a D. My third semester I had a C. I'm aiming for at least a B in my last semester for my AP English class. However will these grades hurt my provisional admission to San Jose State University? The rest of my grades this year all consist of B's and A's.

Will this also hurt me for University of the Pacific too?

The best thing to do is contact the two universities directly and ask them.

How can you have 4 semester grades. I thought there are only 2 semester grades and the ones in between are quarter grades that are just informational and are not on your official transcript. That is how it works at any school I have heard of unless you are on a trimester system (which would be 3 grades, hence the tri) and semester (is for semi which should be 2)

Some high schools report quarter grades on transcripts and factor them in to GPA.

the ONLY thing that counts for UC and Cal State is the grades that show up on our transcript. As long as your quarter grades don’t show up on your transcript you’ll be fine.

btw: four years of passing English are required for admission, so anything lower than a C in English is auto-reject since you will no longer meet the minimum eligibility requirement.
