Hello everyone, I’m new here and I’m hoping I’m posting in the right place. A little background info about me: I am a senior in high school, I’m in 2 AP classes, 2 honors, and one regular, and all from freshman through junior year, I got all As and Bs, with nothing below a B-. My senior year has academically been rocky. Currently, I have an A+ in English B- in AP Euro, D+ in AP Spanish, C in Honors Pre- Calc, and a B+ in honors PLTW IED. The biggest reason I think my grades are rocky was the fact that I was in AP Chemistry and dropped, just in a knick of time too so it won’t be put on my transcript. I was focusing all my time and effort into that class that I did not leave enough time in my other classes, plus I was getting a D and not doing that well.
As for Spanish, I am not that good at it. I struggle a lot with the speaking and reading sections and most of the practice tests we have done I’ve gotten 2s with an occasional 3 here and there. Every time we have some sort of test in that class it frustrates me because I know my grade is going to drop. We just wrote an argumentative essay this past week and my teacher gave me a 2 on it which she puts in as a 10/20 in the gradebook. Also, I had this same teacher in Spanish 1 and 2 and always got a B and when I got a different teacher for Spanish 3, I got an A, so I don’t know.
Now my teacher did say for our final if any of the sections are higher than our previous tests, they will get replaced in the grade book, but I feel like it won’t make a difference since I keep getting 2s.
Anyway, what are your thoughts? Should I switch to Spanish 4 dual credit after the end of the first semester or stay? Any insight is appreciated and sorry for the long post. Thanks!
