Daily Show vs Colbert Report

Which do you prefer?

Colbert Report...Daily Show is usually comparable to a poorly written Leno show. Colbert is just crazy funny.

Both have their moments. Colbert's skits like "Better know a district" and "Stephen Colbert's Balls for Kidz" are always hilarious, though sometimes "Back in Black" and "This week in God" are good for the Daily Show. In terms of interviewing they are entirely different, Stewart is usually more in-depth and serious while Colbert is just sarcastic and hilarious. Depends on the humor really. I prefer Colbert.

These are the only two shows I watch! I'm equally obsessed with both of them, although at the moment (gasp!) I'm inclined to say I prefer Colbert. Although, have you ever read Jon Stewart's book, Naked Pictures of Famous People? Don't let the title throw you - it's the funniest thing I've ever read!!

I vote Colbert.

I think the Daily Show has fallen off a bit over the last couple years. Losing their best correspondants (Carrell, Colbert, Mo Rocca, I don't even see Lewis Black as often) hurts and they need Stewart to carry the show more. I also preferred it a bit more before every story they ran seemed to be political. I enjoyed the Indecision 2004 stuff but the year or two before that may have been the absolute peak. I still watch though, just not as religiously as before.

Colbert's show is just so over the top though that it rarely misses. It started off a bit slow but it's really picked it up. Sometimes I think the Daily Show might be a bit too aware of their audience and influence, but Colbert is so into his character it doesn't matter. So right now, Colbert, though I maintain it is the best hour on TV today.

I love them both to death, and those transitions between the Daily Show and Colbert before the moment of zen always crack me up.

Right now, I prefer Colbert because of his crazy interviews (though Will Ferrel on the Daily was hilarious--all three times)...did any of you see "better know a district" with the DC Representative--she was a really good sport, even going on the offensive (What part of France are you from?), but Colbert had a quick response for everything. That is one time I can actually say I fell off the couch laughing.

Colbert is the best. Jon Stewart isn't really that funny. I watch the Daily Show for Ed Helms and Rob Cordry, each of which is a semi-Colbert. Lewis Black is awesome, but in moderation, I'd get sick of it if he went on a rant every show. Jon Stewart is funny in a more serious sort of way, but his books are hilarious.

I don't watch either show very often, but I prefer the Colbert report. Jon Stewart is just not funny.

colbert, for sure.
daily show is for older audiences who are looking for more serious stuff. colbert is good because its about the humor, and the subject matter happens to be political. i feel like jon stewart's show is about politics, but he throws humor in there to keep people interested. the difference is noticeable.

The between-show interactions are the best.

Wow, I guess I'm the only one who prefers the Daily Show. I like it more because it is more serious than Colbert. I also like Stewarts style more. He's more serious and a bit more subtle. Colbert is usually funny but sometimes he just goes too far. I also have a problem with the fact that he doesn't let his guests finish answering the questions before he asks another one.
However I must say that out of both "The Word" is my favorite segment.

Daily show, then Colbert a slight second.

the word is genius, the best ever is the abortion one.

daily show is really predictable and really isn't that witty. and colbert just tries waaayy to hard. it's not funny.

i guess i really don't like either, but i'd pick the daily show just b/c stewart isn't as damn annoying as colbert. and i actually find out stuff with stewart.

Dude, no one watches it for its news value

yes i know that. it's comedy central.

anyway...if i'm gonna watch two shows that i really don't think are funny, and are supposed to be, then i'm gonna watch the one that actually tells me stuff rather than the more annoying one. hello, i'm going along with the thread and picking one of the two instead of just saying both suck.

Colbert!!!! "Better know a District" is great, especially the DC district and Congressman Wexler from Florida ("I enjoy cocaine because it's a fun thing to do")

The Daily Show is getting old now and I don't like Stewart's interviews. Colbert's interviews are funnier. Still, I like the Daily Show because of Lewis Black and Ed Helms. Also, The Colbert Report got more Emmy nominations than The Daily Show this year.

Both are great.
"Formidable opponent" is great. +D

anyone remember those Mr goodwrench commercials with Colbert in them? I always thought they were hilarious. They came out before the Colbert Report was a show.
