I know there has been some concern expressed in the past about our dance program at BW. Just wanted to give an update about some exciting new things that are going on around here!

First of all: Gregory Daniels, our new dance department head, is BRILLIANT and is working so hard to make big changes in our dance curriculum!

Here is a link ot his website to learn a little more about him:

Last semester we added a “ballet bootcamp” on Saturday mornings from 9:00 - 10:30. This semester that has morphed into a Mon-Thurs 7:00 am required ballet class taught by Sara Whale. Two days are considered beginner level, and two are considered advanced. Students are required to go twice a week, but are able to go 4 days a week if they want to! Next year the different levels of ballet bootcamp and the other dance classes will be arranged so that all students are dancing 4 days a week. In addition to some fabulous dance masterclasses held on Saturdays periodically throughout the semester.

In addition to kicking off our days with ballet, next year we are extending the length of our classes! All ballet and modern classes will be taught by Sara and Greg will teach all Jazz and Tap classes. The option to attend a class just for the experience but for no credit exists. Any student can be dancing as much as their schedule allows and they want to be in the studio!

These are some of the steps we’re taking to ensure that our students get the dance training we need to be competitve professionals! Greg and his little Pug Samson have been an invaluable addition to our BW Family!
