Dartmouth 2023 Applicants Discussion

@dartmouth2023plz I don’t think that many people are going to be accepted. Last year’s class was already the biggest ever & they were already tight on space…considering that fact, I already accepted that I’ll be deferred or rejected?

I never got the “Share Your Microstory” email – I don’t think – so I really hope it won’t factor into admission. When was this email from??

My CSS date also changed, and I guess since they haven’t emailed, we’ll probably just have to wait and see.

My daughter didn’t receive one either. Also no changes on the financial aid tab. Still says November 7 I believe. Does this mean it’s most likely a “no”?

@minniemouse143 There’s no correlation as far as I know.

Thanks @Esh3818 @dartmouth2023plz

@AudreyKang I started getting them sometime around August. But after looking more closely at the email, it says:
“This is not an admissions essay. We’re just interested in what you think about the world. Hearing your perspectives on the big questions helps us create a campus that speaks to your needs.”
So, I don’t think it’s a factor.

@AudreyKang Thank you! I thought they sent that email after ED applications were received.

I just got an email reply saying:
‘You will receive an email this week with information about viewing your decision via the Dartmouth portal no later than December 15’
Not much information

Who had been replying to my email is an officer with initials J.M.
Do you have the same one?

Did anyone else apply for a non-custodial parent waiver for the CSS? My father (who the waiver was for because he plays no part in my life and hasn’t for almost 6 years) received an email today saying that my waiver has been denied and that he must input all of his financial info now. He makes a significant amount more than my mother does and now my admissions decisions does not even matter because I will not be able to afford to attend anyway. It was nice knowing you guys.

Didn’t someone call the admissions office and they said the 12th? I can barely wait until Wednesday let alone Thursday.

Did other folks get the same email as @Terrann?

@potentialdropout – Don’t despair yet. Get an acceptance letter. Than look at the aid package. Talk to the Financial Aid department. There may be options.

@potentialdropout You can appeal the aid award as well, don’t worry. This is also something I’m worried about for myself but I’m confident we will figure it out.

@potentialdropout hey! I applied for the noncustodial parent waiver too! I haven’t received an email on if it’s denied or approved yet, so I’m just assuming that I’m rejected in both Decision & the Waiver. What documents/letters did you submit along with the waiver?

@Mileo321 and @screamingkettle – Did you guys happen to get the same email as Terrann?

Nope :frowning: Praying its not Thursday.

@screemingkettle – Thanks. I don’t our D got one either…

@Milo321 what do you mean? I submitted everything that was asked of me.

@potentialdropout I submitted a third party letter that clarified my situation but idk if that’s enough. And it’s a rlly short letter. Did they emailed you this morning. And what did the email say?

So nobody else got the email but Terrann? If so, doesn’t that seem odd?
