Well, Terrann asked, and received a reply. If nobody else asked, nobody would receive.
@windip – Ah, got it. I thought it was a broad email that was disseminated. Didn’t understand the context. Thanks for clarifying as I was obviously confused
Waiting is horrible. “Yay!”
Did everyone get the email stating that an email will be going out this week with admissions notifications?
@minniemouse143 – If you are referring to Terrann’s email, he apparently reached out directly to Admissions. So nobody else got that email apparently. If you are referring to another email…
@Milo321 I don’t know exactly what the email since it wasn’t sent to me specifically. But it essentially was asking my father to submit his financial info since my waiver had been denied and if they wanted to grant an award they needed his info. I submitted multiple letters from personnel in my school and community that know my situation as well as legal documentation. I know that Dartmouth doesn’t think all of these things to be deciding and that they believe both natural parents should contribute to a child’s college education but this is truly unapplicable in my case. It’s crushing to know that it won’t be accepted no matter what my admissions decision is, especially because this gives me bad feelings about how other schools may receive it.
@Hopper2019 I was referring to the email saying that an admissions email will be sent out prior to December 15.
@potentialdropout did they mail your mother or your father?
@minniemouse143 – See Windip’s comment above. I think the general consensus is that email was sent from Admissions to Terran because he specifically asked about it.
@Milo321 they sent it to my father who I had petitioned to have him exempt. He then contacted my mother.
@potentialdropout I just called and they said that the waivers will be available when Decision come out. Apparently they also said that the decision won’t be email to your noncustodial parent so I’m a little confused. Can someone else also called & ask?
@Milo321 – Sounds like they assume no waiver applies for purposes of initial award, and then will allow you to apply for waiver after accepted.
Did you happen to ask when decisions will come out? 12th or 13th?
Nope srry? I was too anxious about getting rejected
@milo321 Think positively!!! Everyone on this thread has a great shot!! I
understandable, but I really wanna know. they did say the 12th earlier and I wanna confirm what it is.
@screamingkettle That’s because the financial aid letter was supposed to come out on the 12th and they said they come out at the same time. At this point, all bets are off since the date changed to the 13th. Honestly, I think the only way to know will be when they actually send out the email to applicants with the date.
In post #440 they said that admissions said 12/12, but you’re totally right we won’t know until the email is sent out, it’s most likely the 13th.
FYI - Harvard Admissions home page now says letters will be out no sooner than 7 pm on the 13th. Is that the date/time that other Ivies (except for Cornell) have announced?
I heard it’s coming Thursday around 4pm est
