If you get in, what are you guys planning on participating in on campus? Like any clubs or club/varsity sports?

I personally will become a part of the varsity sailing team and the club alpine ski team.

I’m waiting til after to finish the rest of my supps. I figure that if I get rejected I will channel all of my rage into writing some damn good essays… hopefully.

I want to do a cappella, work on The Dartmouth, maybe some mock trial, and theater.

I’m definitely going to be a part of the Outing Club, and community service groups. Perhaps some club sports, but definitely not good enough for varsity level.

@Pumpedfor17, I think that’s what I’m secretly hoping too… I mean, I can’t even finish an application due tomorrow since I’m so jittery right now XD

I’ll probably join a few international student groups, hopefully the mock trial team, and maybe some volunteer clubs.

I mean, it’s probably smart to start apps before finding out. But, as I’ve stated before, I feel like I’d be accepting defeat if I started other apps.

I don’t know. I just want to get in :/

Me too I really wonder what the huge decrease in the ED applicant pool will mean for us. Last year Columbia had a decrease too but ED acceptance rates went up; UPenn on the other hand decreased ED acceptance rates because they “wanted more flexibility”. Do you think D’s going to defer a ton of students to see their prospects in RD too??

It’s definitely possible, and to be honest, that was my first thought. I figured that they would probably accept less so that they could have more flexibility in the RD pool.

If only we could see the process from the inside, know what they were thinking!

I wish they would at least give us a firm date on things. So many of my friends know exactly when they’re finding out. I really don’t like not having a countdown and the whole process being so ambiguous.

I’m fully okay with the slightly ambiguous date as long as it’s earlier than dec 15th.

Me too, though I guess getting the results earlier is better… I mean, if I do have to prepare (please let this not happen), better do it sooner than later right.

I have to stop checking the application status lol

So true ^^^^… I check the application status so many times a day that it is ridiculous haha.

when do you guys think we will get the email giving the notification date then?

Monday? Maybe tomorrow?

All assuming the date is the 6th as the person told me :o

that would be awesome if it were tomorrow haha

and @magentaturtle thanks for being the one to personally ask admissions!!

It’s really no big deal at all. I want to know just as much as anyone else here. I just hope I don’t let everyone down by disclosing that information; in other words, I hope the person who talked to me knew what she was talking about!

we heard the same info today from my daughter’s college advisor

Crazy that there’s so little time left. I think I won’t be able to bring myself to look at the decision when it comes out. I’ll be too nervous.

Thank you rento3, now I won’t be so nervous about possibly providing information that may not be true!

:P

Does anyone expect an email tomorrow?!
