<p>I will have an interview with an alumni, and I am wondering if this is a good thing?
What do they ask?

The interview doesnā€™t actually mean anything (thereā€™s no sort of pre-screening of applications for interviews or anything) but it is a good chance to make a good impression in some way that isnā€™t indicated on your app. At my interview yesterday, the guy showed me what they wanted. It was 4 categories, and while I donā€™t remember them exactly, I know one was character, one was academic passion, and Iā€™m fairly sure one was leadership(?). </p>

<p>From what Iā€™ve heard, interviews either sort of help people or really hurt people. But just be yourself and try to give specific examples of your awesomeness! Youā€™ll do great :)</p>

Do any of you know about Dartmouth sending ā€˜likely letters?ā€™ I read on last yearā€™s threads that people had heard back already about the ā€˜likely lettersā€™ by this time of year. I know that they only send them to their top 1/3 of accepted students.</p>

<p>Iā€™m still waiting to hear from Williams, Cornell, Rice, Brown, Yale, Bowdoin, Middlebury, McGill, and Northeastern.</p>

<p>I was accepted early to Grinnell, but now Iā€™m freaking out because WUSTL waitlisted me. Iā€™m really hoping that isnā€™t the harbinger of more bad news to come.</p>
