@Opaline: I feel you. Waitlisted as well… now feeling pessimistic about everything else (I actually showed interest or whatever with an interview too… sigh…).

I maxed out the CommonApp (20 schools) =D

But for a taste: Cornell, UMich, NYU, UChicago, Duke, Yale, Princeton (Deferee), Middlebury, Penn, Georgetown, and like ten more. Got into Rutgers.

Before you ask why, it’s to hedge out my chances at as many of my top schools as possible. Before you ask how, a winter break that was a total of like 20 hours of sleep.

I know this is really late, but to all of you who were talking about Xbox > getting drunk I’m totally in! Sounds like my kind of party!! Haha :)

@Carbs2
I pretty much agree, I’d probably drink a little while playing anyway, but not get drunk :P

Anybody know how we are getting our decisions? email? some portal (that I have not heard of yet)? snail-mail?

@Brookie17
We have to log into the Dartmouth portal.

@Opaline. I got waitlisted at WashU too. Got an early write to Swarthmore and Bowdoin the following Monday. WashU loves waitlisting overqualified applicants if they don’t show interest.

Early write to Bowdoin = Luck with Dartmouth? (They are pretty similar…)

@givemereason, I got the opposite accepted to washu, no early write from bowdoin and deferral from Dartmouth. Hopefully I’ll have some good luck

Apparently WashU had a field day with waitlists. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to suggest that they’re primarily interested in yield protection.

Kinda glad I withdrew my app from WashU.

I got wait listed at Case and no early write!
International FA + No Interest + Maybe overqualified??(Doubt this)

But hopefully Dartmouth sees me as a good fit!! :)

How many of you sent an arts supplement to Dartmouth?? What was it?? Did you guys hear back??
I sent in a supplement on photography. The Fedex signed report is all I have - I don’t even know if they’ve seen it!!

@rishav17
I got wait-listed at Case too, and I was surprised more than anything else. But I guess they really weigh in the interest shown.

Hopefully we’ll hear good news from Dartmouth!

@stupiddorkyidiot, i think one of the primary reasons that WashU wait lists so many is that it doesn’t have a way to gauge interest since there is no supplement. So those that sort of apply to WashU just because, don’t get lucky because WashU then has to place so much emphasis on demonstrated interest.

Getting into Ivy seems easier with all this international FA and interest taken into account by other top 20 colleges lol

^ Haha! Hopefully!

@barvoets, that makes sense. I didn’t apply to WashU or even look at the application - I’m just going on what others have said in the UChicago thread.

Guys, sorry to interrupt, but what’s an early write?

@honorlions Hi5 ! I maxed out the common app too! An then applied to 4 more schools :p
