Dartmouth Early Decision 2016 Official Thread

@toombs61

OH SERIOUSLY? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

when it says the process is paperless, does that mean we don’t get anything in the mail at all? even if we are accepted?

I hope not, because if accepted, I would like something tangible to show my counselor and put on our college acceptance wall :D

You will receive a very thin envelope a few days after the Banner announcement with a certificate that says you have been accepted to Dartmouth College and the same letter/message (begins with “Congratulations” if you are accepted) that is posted online. Then, you will get very little correspondence until about June!

You will receive something in the mail but it comes well after the online notification. My S was accepted RD so I don’t know if ED is different but all he had to do was click a button online to accept the offer of admission and it was a done deal. They do not require a deposit.

Freaaaakkkiiinggg out!!!

This is going to be the most unproductive week ever.

No, don’t listen to some of the other posters. The decision that you receive will set you up for either failure or success for the rest of your life. And the best way to make sure you get in is to think about nothing else for the next week - they take that into consideration, you know.

duhhhhhhh…

Now, now. I know that if I don’t get in, I’ll be fine. It’s not like my second choices are consolation prizes! It’s just nerve wracking.

I NEED DARTMOUTH. I BLEED, BREATHE, EAT, SLEEP AND DREAM GREEN.

I am praying to the Gods of Dartmouth (Former Alumni) for some luck…

PLEDGE PEOPLE! We should try to make this thread somewhat helpful for the rest of the non-applicant readers :)

and on a side note… IM FREAKING OUT OVER HERE!

It’s perfectly understandable for people to be nervous. And that’s what this thread is for - to share our concerns, questions, and feelings about applying to Dartmouth.

has anyone else not started essays for any other applications yet? in case of a deferral or rejection

[Countdown to Dec 9, 2011 3:00 PM in Concord](Time since Dec 9, 2011 3:00 pm started in Concord, New Hampshire) …I should not have done this!

and I have started Stanford, Rice, and Amherst so far. Kind of trying to wait till Friday before I truly begin the supplement essay fury :P

I need to start my colgate essay… they take EDII on a rolling basis starting Jan 1 through the 15th but hopefully i wont have to write it at all ;)

Some of my other apps are due January 15th, so I’m not too worried about my supplements since I have Christmas break. I have my UChicago essay done, but that’s about it.

I’ve already done 90% of my other supps because i would hate to be stuck with all that work in the last 3 weeks! but that being said i really do need to get in here. Its important hahaha
