Im trying to decide if I want to open my decision still at school or once i get home. My mom wants to be there but i honestly don’t know if i can wait an hour to get home…
I will just open it. Better to tear the bandage off. I will apply transfer next year, and the year after. They won’t get rid of me so soon.
@GiddyHiddy Can you do apply transfer if you didn’t get in initially. And also, would you want to, because clearly the admissions office doesn’t think you’re a good fit for the school, or the school is a good fit for you.
I maybe the only one who would prefer a rejection to a deferral
I called off mock trials tomorrow for the whole team so I could selfishly rush home and check my decision. Let’s hope its worth it.
@Erikj28 My advancement to high school was bumpy, as lots of problems arose unexpectedly. I come from a tough background and a nationality who’s spirit is solely dependent on doing what you can and hoping for the best. I will hope for the best for the next three years if I have to. I want to meet the Muslim community there, and have the college experience of my dreams. If it comes to the end of sophomore year of college and I do not get accepted, then I will accept it, because it would truly be the end for my undergraduate experience. But before that? No, as I told my interviewer, “If Dartmouth looks over my application this year and doesn’t accept me, it will see the application for the next two years”. The guy said he would put that in his write up, and I sure hope that message hits home. I didn’t apply ED for fun.
Anyone know if when the email us saying decisions are on the application portal that they all say the same thing? Like will it say in that email if we are denied/accepted or is it just in the portal? I hope that question made sense it was hard to write out lol
@GiddyHiddy Sorry I may have struck a chord… The only point I was trying to make is that from my understanding, Dartmouth, and all colleges for that matter, admit you to the institution if they feel like you will be successful there. So a rejection is an indication from the admissions office that they don’t believe you’ll be successful there, or atlas less successful than other qualified applicants. Thats why I ask, because sure, you POSSIBLY may get what you want in the end and get into the school, but re you likely to thrive there?
Again, I didn’t mean to stick a chord, and I sincerely hope you get to go to Dartmouth, your dream school (mine too!)
@Erikj28 I was just trying to state that even if they do not want me, they will learn to, lol. I didn’t get pumped after your comment, I just wanted to say that I really want this to happen. Even though I probably won’t with my stats, lol.
@GiddyHiddy Your persistence is incredibly admirable!! And @laxer2215 I’m pretty sure that every email will be the same, just saying that an update has been made to your application. Im sure they’ll include a link to the application portal, but you’ll probably have it open anyways
@BGMuleri I’m with you. I’d rather just know that I have to move on…
@BGMuleri also, if they defer me (which I feel is probably my likely outcome), I’m not sure I want to wait to hear back RD. I figure it they don’t want me the first time around, it might just not be a good fit.
@mgb1311 5% to 10% of people deferred get accepted regular decision. If you really want Dartmouth, wouldn’t it be better to wait?
Does anyone know what percent of deferred applicants get in during RD?
Oops, didn’t see that comment^
where are you guys going to open your decisions?
@jkennyy On the couch, my parents don’t care…
I have XC Ski practice so I’m going in the school at 4 to open it :-S
@harry6199 Why do you have such cool after school activities!!! My Finance Club is the squad, so don’t mess with us [-X >:/
Jk, that sounds cool. Sports sound cool in general, if I get accepted, first thing I will do is sign up for Fencing 101, lol.
I’ll be opening mine shortly before heading to Ping Pong club
