@dartagnaneb The jealousy burns through me. How good are you, btw?
@GiddyHiddy one of the top players in the club, and the treasurer
@dartagnaneb I cannot tell if all of you guys are athletic or nerdy. Most likely both, but I constitute as an nonathletic individual. Do nerds get Homecoming King?
Our Homecoming King was NHS President, and he’s a recruited track athlete at Princeton. I do two varsity sports myself.
Do colleges care about Homecoming King even? Would Dartmouth find that unique about an applicant, who doesn’t do a sport?
@GiddyHiddy no, i don’t think so, I was just mentioning
@dartagnaneb Well, that blows. I was the most unpopular kid in school 9-10th grade, but for some reason people ended up warming up to me. 11th grade was a decent amount of hate and stereotyping, probably due to my name (A very profound, terrorist linked name), but this year that switched up. I haven’t played a sport, but I help out my fellow student, so my class of 500 decided to vote me in as ‘Hoco’ King. Personally, I think that would show charisma or something, because I had to tough it out in my school environment, and somehow (really, somehow) landed on top. I heard they are going to make me an urban legend when I leave.
Good luck to everyone and thank you all for answering my questions over the past few months! (there are just some that your guidance counselor who you only see every other month cant answer) Regardless of the decision, I probably won’t be checking this page anymore lol it can be stressful but hopefully I will see you all in Hanover in the fall
Good luck to ya! @laxer2215 hopefully we will all be running 2021 circles around the homecoming bonfire next year
@sbux>mostthings It’s actually only 121, which still ends up being more than 10 miles i believe i heard!
I legit just bookmarked the decisions page to show next year what a failing application looks like, lol :-q
@Erikj28 thank you. Love that I have a bc calc exam tomorrow and I thought that 2021 laps was a completely rational thing for people to do help
@sbux>mostthings it’s also common just to do 21 laps because even that’s like a community 5k
@dartagnaneb ngl that sounds ideal. I’m a runner and 5ks are my favorite distance. But if we are being honest I’d run the 10 miles (121 laps) if it meant that I could get an acceptance tomorrow.
Our Homecoming king was a very out proud gay, Jew. He ended up at Yale. Nerd Hoco Kings rock!
@grandscheme Wow, that’s pretty cool. I was the first Muslim Homecoming King in my school district. I am Sunni Muslim, and I shouldn’t go to parties, but my parents let me, lol. I just watched the whole time, didn’t even dance.
haha same @sbux>mostthings what do you run for a 5k?
@dartagnaneb XC runner here haha, what is the course length in your state?
Hey guys! Dartmouth '20 here. Wishing you all good luck tomorrow. If you guys have any last minute questions about decisions or dartmouth in general feel free to ask.
@mindofbp 5 Kilometers, I run in GA
