Dartmouth ED Class of 2020

I wasn’t asked to, so I didn’t. My unweighted remained consistent, my weighted went up, but I had one B.

I wasn’t asked to either. My GPA would’ve stayed the same either way.

I really hope they don’t ask for first quarter grades, because I’ve a mild case of senioritis :expressionless:

My school sent mine whether I wanted them to or not. I thought they were pretty much required…

Just out of curiosity: how do you all think grades are even evaluated in the admissions process?

like on a scale from “they just get you through the door” to “they’re the end-all-be-all”

I’m not sure, because every school grades differently. An A at my school may be equal to a B at another school, and vice versa. They probably just look for consistency/ an upward trend and also class rank, but I’m not positive.

They definitely consider the difficulty of your school and the classes you’re taking. So theoretically a 3.5 at one school could be better than a 3.8 at another. From what I heard at the Dartmouth information session, grades are one of the most important aspects but they still look at you holistically so they will look at the other parts of your application.

So does everyone have the option on the application portal to withdrawal their application?

Mine has that ^^^

Though it doesn’t say anything about any additional materials being received, as a couple people have said. Does anyone who took the November SAT or subject tests know if they will update the portal to let us know they have received those scores?

I’d call to confirm if you’re worried.

I sent mine on either thanksgiving or the next day, and the college board said that they sent them on the 30th. But my portal was just updated this morning saying they were recieved. BTW: I took just US History and I’m from NJ.

@JARO10 The portal should be updated as soon as they receive your scores. At least that’s what happened in my case. They wrote on their site that they’re aware of the delay so I wouldn’t worry too much if the score report is taking longer than usual.

@ohwhatalife had you previously submitted other SAT 2 scores? Like I had already submitted my two, so it was checked off on my application portal. But I took Math 1 in November (cuz I did horribly on physics lol) and had it sent immediately, yet the date has not changed

Is it possible to view your financial aid status on the portal??

Yes, I have a financial aid section on my portal.

When did it show up? @UnivClassOf2020

@sunimah I’m not sure when it showed up, I didn’t notice it until this morning. It says my CSS financial aid profile was received 11/23/15, so it may have been then. I had it submitted way before the 23rd, so I guess it takes a while.

Anyone else have this happen?

yeah same my financial aid section showed up like last week on the portal and said my css profile was received on the 23rd even though i sent it in october and i also now have the option to withdraw my application

@sunimah It’s a small button right above the Application Checklist. Maybe you overlooked it?
