Dartmouth ED Class of 2020

Hello everyone! Has everyone taken four years of a foreign language? I read that Dartmouth is big on foreign language??

I have. I also sent in my score for the Spanish subject test and got a 740, but I’m not really sure if that’s good or not…

@kooliema, By the end of this year, I will have taken five years of Spanish, four years of French, and a year each of German and Russian.

@skiergirl5098, It’s great, superb if you’re not a native speaker.

48 hours!!

I’m lucky in that my school system started offering Spanish in 2nd grade, so I’ve been taking it since then. I hope the thing about Dartmouth loving foreign language is true since it’s probably my best subject. I’m not a native speaker and I got 750 on the subject test, which I was nervous about, but my teacher told me it was a solid score. Anyway, when I went on a tour of Dartmouth, they emphasized the language program. I hope to continue on with Spanish in college so it’s another reason Dartmouth is a good fit.

Also, I don’t know how people stay so calm in the days before decisions are released. All of my friends who applied ED at other schools were so calm the day of their decision. I’m already a wreck and we have two days left.

Has anybody taken Chinese or Arabic in school? I have midterms for both of the subjects this week, and im so scared, lol

I’ve taken neither, but I know that they’re incredibly complicated.

I almost feel less nervous now that decisions near - it’s peculiar, really.

The closer decisions get the more of a nervous wreck I become… I have a massive CalcBC test tomorrow and I just can’t focus on studying when my mind keeps drifting off to Dartmouth thoughts…

I’m pretty calm right now… although I know I’m probably in the bottom 50% of the applicant pool so I’ve tried to fall in love with schools more within my reach during this wait period

I’ve already told myself several times that I’m rejected… And now I’m just numb.

I’m getting really nervous because virtually all of my friends have gotten good news back.

there’s a new box in the application portal for where the ed notification will be :-SS

I see it! Aaaah!

“After 4PM EST” Every minute past 4 will be incredibly painful.

I put a countdown clock on my desktop to count the seconds till the time. The next two days will be a struggle, I can barely concentrate on schoolwork.

I have my hardest midterm exam on thursday… whether accepted or not I doubt I will get much studying done :frowning: Trying to do it now, but even that is a struggle.

I’m just hoping I’ll get in so I wont have to worry too much about midterms… they only count for 5% of our final grade at my school anyway…

I’m just trying to prepare myself for a rejection. Like I’m reading past rejection and deferal letters. I just want to be ready for whatever happens. What about you guys?

I’m definitely preparing myself for the worst. Luckily, I only have a few midterms this year and they won’t even be until mid-late January, so I’m lucky in that regard.

1 day, 18 hours, 50 minutes! We got this.
