@skiergirl5098 i believe we will be notified via the dartmouth application portal and then get an official letter within the next week
I had my interview today! It lasted about 35 minutes and my interviewer said he’ll send good feedback to Dartmouth
I had an interview as well - lasted about 50 minutes. She was really nice and the interview was very chill - doubt it’ll be a huge factor in the admission process
Hey everyone! I also applied to Dartmouth ED. I had my interview this past weekend and it was rather short, only twenty minutes. However, he emailed me and said I did a great job during the interview. He literally only asked me two questions and then said “I’ve gotten a sense of your leadership capabilities” soooo not sure what to think. Any thoughts? I’m not stressing too much.
@collegegirl000 My interviewer didn’t ask me many questions either. The conversation just kind of flowed without a need for him to ask me a lot of questions, but I still feel like he got a good idea of what I’m like as a person. I would say you’ll be fine and not to worry about it. Good luck!
I had a similar interview experience in that my interviewer did not ask many questions; in fact, she only really asked me what classes I was taking and went off from there. She was very nice and very chill about the whole thing. She ended up talking about herself and her experience at Dartmouth for most of it (the interview lasted almost two hours), but I was nervous (and naturally introverted) so I didn’t mind. My interviewer didn’t tell me specifically to bring anything, but at the last minute I printed out my activity sheet/resume and brought it just in case. It turns out, she was really happy that I brought it since she said she often forgets what activities students are involved in and appreciates the refresher. Overall, the interview went well, but personally I don’t think it’s a huge factor in admission.
ED numbers have been released already:

Mine was recorded - I don’t know if that’s significant.
Oh, and @gearsstudio, thanks for posting that
Thanks guys! Comforting to know we’re in this together lol
Thanks for posting that link @gearsstudio. I guess a 2% increase is normal considering the trend in the last few years.
So I guess decisions will come around 15th of December like last year
@nerdking I think they released it the Friday before the 15th last year, so it might come out on the 11th this year.
Hello! Does anyone know if interviewers typically interview students all from the same high school or do they interview students from all around the area?
From what I’ve heard, there is a District Director and, depending on the size and concentration of applicants in each area, a number of member-interviewers who may or may it be assigned to specific schools within that area.
Hey everyone.I am an African kid from Kenya, East Africa(Go Lupita) sorry I digress. My concern is SAT II since on Tuesday I found out I had a 540 in Lit & a 580 in Bio M though in my defense, on the morning of the test my dad was in surgery & it was all I could think of(he lost his left eye but he’s fine now diabetes is no joke ppl).I got an 1810 in my SATs first attempt but that’s fine since here ppl get even into Harvard with as low as 1750s (true story, lucky dude).Do I still have a chance or should I just settle for University of Nairobi??
@please5-do-not% Absolute zero chance of getting into Dartmouth with those stats.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates it!
Whatever happens with Dartmouth, we all worked incredibly hard to get where we are and I’m sure we all have a lot to be thankful for. I hope everyone has/had a great day with family and friends and got to avoid the anxiety-inducing “how’s the college search going” questions from relatives! (:
@please5-do-not%, it’s difficult to get into an Ivy League School as a resident of the us - it would be even more difficult to get in as an International, and though English is likely not your first language there are other very qualified competitors from all parts of the globe. You should still apply because none of us here is an expert and none of us here knows your life story (your accomplishments, the hardships you’ve overcome, etc.)
Good luck.
English is among my first languages and honestly my EC and playing the African card is the only advantage I have right now.My essays are all about those hardships and since last year a guy from my school got into Harvard with almost similar scores am a tad optimistic but I can still see that rejection letter when I close my eyes.
I don’t really think you lack the competence. If you indeed overcame all those hardships and make the full of all the resources you could get, then that would reflect in your essays, interviews, etc. And I think AO do value this kind of students, so just keep calm and hope for the best.
