Dartmouth ED/EA?

Junior living in Illinois. Thinking of applying to Dartmouth on ED/EA, is it worth doing?

South Asian M
GPA: 3.94/4.80
Rank: 2/126
SAT: 2260 (690CR, 800M, 770W)
ACT 34 (34E, 35M/S, 32R)
National Merit Commended (at least)
National Honor Society
JROTC Cadet Major
JROTC Leadership Captian
250+ hrs Comm Service
...and other stuff

List “the other stuff.” Your stats are pretty good, I mean Rank, SAT, ACT, and GPA, you are set there. However, your ecs seem a little weak, so maybe you can tell me a bit more? Summer stuff? Sports? ect. I think Dartmouth is a reach, like it is for anyone, but stats are not gonna stop you getting it, it will be the exrta stuff. Just make amazing essays and get good recs, and things will work out. :)

Chance me?

What makes you stand out? You’re an ORM as it is…

Dartmouth’s ED, btw

you definitely have really good stats. You seem to have as good as shot as anybody, so I don’t see the harm in it. Hopefully you’ll get lucky. It is one amazing school. Best of luck.

I hope it’s not too rude to ask, but how are you on finances? ED and EA in general are notorious for not giving out the needed financial aid, since the people who apply in that deadline are showing their passion to go.

I’m definitely gonna need a lot of financial aid. Hmm.

I’m not sure about that, its a myth. I think you will be fine with FA, Dartmouth tends to be very generous. I’d put your chances at around 40-50%. Solid stats, but you’d probably need another 100 points on the SAT for that to justify the weaker ECs/ lack of a hook. But you never know, you are in contention, its really difficult to predict these days.

Hello!

Here is something for consideration
EA/EDs are not for everyone. However, if you do believe that Dartmouth is the best way to go, well, by all means! It really is up to you!
