**Dartmouth International Applicant's Thread 2017**

@lboss
Congrats! :)

@Raith
Thanks, but I didn’t apply to many colleges so the chance that I end up nowhere is high. :confused: Yea, I am currently looking what special thing I could do in that year. :)

@Iboss - Congrats!! :D

Few of my school mates might be heading there too!! :slight_smile: I didn’t apply because – It’s too damn cold(read-freeeezing) for more than half of the year!! :p

@Raith - Thanks! But I ain’t studying as much as I should!! :/

@Sunny - Yeah, it is tough!!
Just got to know that Columbia has an automatic 3.5 GPA admit cutoff for transfer students from it’s “associate colleges”, Damn!! Had I known that earlier, I would’ve aimed at that!! :/

Dartmouth is pretty cold too!
I think Hanover (the town Dartmouth is in) has the US military research lab for cold and extreme weather! Talk about coldness! But it’s okay, I miss the cold after living in hot and sweaty Thailand for 5 years!

@Iboss - Dartmouth’s bearable still… and It’s winter is of a shorter duration ~ 4 months I think!!

Probably the Canadians can confirm this, but I’ve heard & read that it’s cold & gloomy for almost 6 months (as you head North!!)

btw - there are 2 campuses of UBC, which one did you apply to??

Another Dartmouth hopeful from India! Hello everybody.

@betterhope - Welcome!! :smiley:
But Don’t post “chance me” here!! If you can edit it - then remove it!! :)

I want somebody to interview me…badly:D

@rishav17 I have! As I said, I’ve got enough answers in that thread. I’ve posted it on behalf of my intro–scores, gpa n all.

@quiverfox why do you want someone to interview you?? Do you have an interview in the near days?

@quiver - Dartmouth finished allocating interviews!! :/

@betterhope - Oh! Anyway what made you like Dartmouth??

@Betterhope
I’m going to get confused between you and Hopingforbetter! :stuck_out_tongue:
Other than that… WELCOME!!

Yea Dartmouth is really cold (one of the reasons why I am considering it highly compared to some of the others I have applied to).
I would have loved to have an interview for Dartmouth too, but didn’t get lucky enough for that possible advantage.

I actually saw some chick walking with a Dartmouth T-Shirt - same green and everything! :smiley: Wanted to say something, but thought it would be a little too weird xP

Sorry for being late. It’s dinner time in India, isn’t it?
I have quite many reasons. I don’t want to post a long list. Here are a few:

 1. Location Location Location! I love hiking and canoeing.
 2. Size: gives access to professors, and also some beautiful friendships. I heard that students take professors for lunch. I liked it!
 3. D-Plan
 4. One of the few schools with lot of school spirit.
 5. My favorite color is green. GO GREEN!

@Raith yea we have similar usernames. I didn’t recognize it, but hopingforbetter specifically mentioned it in my chances thread!

BTW Thanks for the welcome!

^^Hehehe…some confusion now :D

@Raith - The cold is the only thing that I dislike about Dartmouth!! But all other advantages weighed in… I’ll be more than happy to bear it!! Maybe I’ll start liking it!! :)

Hey rishav, you don’t like cold? One of the reasons I chose Dartmouth(and colleges in the Northeast) is the cold weather.

Princeton vs Dartmouth which do you guys think is colder?

I think Dartmouth is colder while Princeton has more snowfall. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Welcome betterhope :)
