Nope…directly from commonapp!!
I feel very popular…PEOPLE think i did some huge research work…published 4000 new analyses…etc…lol:D

… ?? What makes you think you’re popular??..
Anyway - you’re the only one on this thread who’s done research work that has actually been successfully applied in the real world!!
(Unless someone else is hiding equally good research work!!)

Did you send Dartmouth a mail regarding the ‘‘incompleteness’’ of your app??

My friends at school…They sound as if i were tom cruise in MI4:) aND NOPE…i thought Id check up once again and then send one…You never know with these teachers

@Rishav
I’m sure you’ll enjoy all the sports! football in the snow with a coloured ball.

@Quiver
Well bask in the “glory” it might just be the beginning :P

@school
Welcome and where you from? :)

@quiver - Haha!!
Check quickly then -you don’t want to mess up your applications after all this hard work!! :)

@Raith, Football is something I will play irrespective of whether it is -40C or +40C :p

@rishav17, thanks. No cc for him. He has been accepted to A&M’s College of Engineering. So, as far as he is concerrned he is done with the college admissions process.

@perazziman - Ohh!! Congratulations on the acceptance!!
Is A&M his top choice or is it just that he will be happy to attend A&M next fall & hence isn’t too concerned with the rest of the decisions??

@Rishav
We will definitely play football in the cold then will be difficult… but fun xP

@Perazziman
Congrats on the acceptance :)

@Raith - Yeah!!

Dartmouth accepted my engineering idea abstract!! Yeayy!! :)

Only Upenn wrote back saying that I can submit only a 1 page article! And mine’s 3pgs long!!

@Rishav
Conrats for you there and hope it really helps tie everything together!

Dude, this job shadowing is pretty chilled - not much work (or at least doesn’t feel like it) taking apart this one aircraft (Let E9), currently taking the steering out for maintenance and a conversion to a Let E20. Just undoing a couple nuts and bolts, getting dirty - all the good stuff :P

@Raith - looks like you’re having fun at work!! Haha - that’s good!!
You getting paid?? :p

And hopefully it’ll bump my chances positively!!
Though there is always the chance of it having a negative impact because I wasn’t really mentored or anything… got the transcript reviewed by 4 friends( 2 of them are physics geniuses ) and my brother( who is an engineer) . Bro said that, the theory looked right to him - but the doubted the practical efficiency of the system!! Though he told me to send it in anyway!! :D

@Rishav
Yea it is quite a bit of fun - taking apart the steering column of the plane (19 seater!). And not really being paid- but I believe that my accomodation is free, and I get a food allowancefrom the company) so its good enough. Sounds bad but I really am not doing this to earn money, just experience :)

If I send you my email address would you be cool with sending me your abstract? I’d love to read it!

rishav, He was tracked for alternative schooling. So it is very difficult for him to get into competitive colleges. He is very lucky to get into A&M engineering. However, he received a letter from DC extending the deadline and asking him to apply. So, he did.

How about you? What are you planning on studying at DC and where are you from?

@Raith - Yea, PM your e-mail Id… :)

@perazziman - Ohh!! I guess Dartmouth extended its deadline for a lot of students (so as to increase its no. of apps - which were on a decline due to the hazing incidents!!)!! But they sent it only to ones they were “interested” in maybe cause not everybody got it!!

I’m from India!! You actually chanced me a long time ago!! Haha!!
Physics/Engineering at Dartmouth most probably!! But I do have a lot of other interests - so don’t know really! Right now it is all about getting into few good colleges so that I can decide what’s right later on!! :D

^I suppose you are right, if they just wanted to increase the number of applicants they could have done a more universal mailing.

My dad was from India.

I don’t know if they would have just done a universal mailing to gain more applicants - people who probably don’t think they have any shot wouldn’t apply anyway unless the email said something to the effect of we want you
I know a random email from even HYP wouldn’t get me to necessarily apply, unless I thought I had a bit of a chance.

There was a thread some time ago on the deadline extension!!

This is what I think… Basically, all colleges use College board to get details of prospective candidates!! :)

On the thread it seemed that people who didn’t get the deadline extension mail fell in either of these three categories:
- He/She wasn’t part of Dartmouth’s prospective applicant list(as from Collegeboard’s applicant profile).
- He/She had already applied to Dartmouth.
- He/She is an International student! (However perraziman’s S seems to be an exception to this!!)

^This would actually help Dartmouth get more “good” applicants because most people know Dartmouth’s a great school and anyone with a good SAT would’ve thought it to be among his/her reach. A mail from Dartmouth urging them to apply would surely change their minds!!

@Raith - Haha!! I actually applied to Columbia & UPenn after receiving around 10 mails from them(I was going to apply anyway, but the mails made me kind of excited!!)!! Now I realize, it was just a part of their marketing policy to keep that acceptance rate low!! :/

@rishav - I actually loved recieving the mails from Penn and Columbia.
Made me feel valued lol :p

Yeah!! Same here:) But I knew abt the engineering standards at columbia…though I still wish I did apply:(

I fit in better at Dartmouth anyways…:D

@quiver -

WHY didn’t you apply then?? :p

Boards from next Tuesday & I don’t know **** & I can’t stop thinking about these damn decisions!! :/
