**Dartmouth International Applicant's Thread 2017**

Seems like a plan ^ !! :)

Sorryy…
:frowning: they don’t know what they’re missing!!!

Caltech has no snow anyway. Priorities!!

Thanks Lemming, but it is chilled :slight_smile: read a few things that really put me off them a few weeks ago (though might have still gone depending on the rest of the decisions)

haha yes… snow is extremely important :smiley: good memory :P

Let Pi day be a good day hopefully

The snow is one of the best things, I always wanted to go skiing :D

Love how MIT release their decisions on Pi day…

Me too (to both Sunny and Lemming) xP

@Raith I wasn’t interested in D before this thread, but being on this thread made me research it and found a lot to love. Even though i’m a half regular I wouldn’t mind going with you guys too.

@French. Thanks hun. If we both end up at D, or maybe two schools close enough, we could meet up.

I hope I get to see everyone in person. That would be so cool!!

And decisions are taking forever for me. All of mine come out in the last week of March to early April :(

This guy is a legend on all things college btw ^^
Laughing so much!!

lemming@@@ THAT WAS A RIOT:D

@Carib
So we were able to interest you in Dartmouth :smiley: haha, and you definitely are able to join us (everyone on here can) :P

@MRU
Sorry about that man… It seemed like you were very academically competitive applicant… Don’t know why they rejected you. That sucks.

Anyways, yes! Thank you for making the wait until Ivy Day a little less painful everybody! Cheers! Hang in there! :)

@Boss
No problem as I’ve mentioned :stuck_out_tongue: But I really would have loved the slight bragging rights since it is one of the top universities xP
Probably my essays didn’t match up to what they felt they wanted or worked for their student environment?

Keep hanging in there like a chimpanzee! I know I am xP

I’m very glad that you’re taking the rejection pretty well! Some people dwell on the rejection and it’s pretty saddening, but I’m glad that you moved on :)

@Iboss - Are you going to be taking the waitlist offer from WUSTL/CWRU?? or wait till Ivy Decisions??

I’m currently in a limbo!! :confused:
On one hand the CWRU waitlist(a la rejection) seems to be a precursor to the impending doom I face. On the other hand it gives the hope that I may have been a victim of yield protection! :(

I want to accept the wait list offer - but then I’ll be informed only in late May and I am not ready to be in for another agonizing wait!! :/

I’m dreading the near future now! Sometimes I just want to fast forward to September, see where I am and then return back to the present!! :p

Gah. I should’ve decently been rejected. I would’ve known for certain that I’m no good - and then I could’ve focused on the Indian entrance exams!!

But then again if the world was to dwell on “should have”, “could have” and “would have”, life wouldn’t be this interesting would it?? :D

I’m going to stop rambling now. :)

EDIT:-
---- My 1000th post seems to be full of wisdom. :stuck_out_tongue: —

Learn to enjoy the ride too…not only the destination…:)

@rishav17 The CWRU Waitlist was a disappointment for me too, but I guess with international FA, it can go either way.

So with all my Ivy dreams crashing, I slept. This morning I checked my phone, and viola, waitlisted at Caltech, and yes, I applied for international FA here too. Inferring from this experience, I guess that each college looks for something specific to itself in the admissions process. Caltech was my outermost shot, but I’m satisfied to be waitlisted there, and have already accepted their waitlist status.

Did anyone else here get their Caltech decisions too?

@rishav17
I think I will wait around to see from the Ivy Leagues before I make my decision to accept waitlist spots. I can’t really afford those places anyway and I don’t want to be taking a spot from somebody who really wants to go to those schools :)

Don’t lose hope rishav17 and himanshusahay! I have absolute confidence that we will be accepted to a top college AND be able to afford it. Praying for you guys.

@Himanshu
Yea I did, got rejected, but I only realised after the fact that it isn’t a really good fit for me unfortunately. I would have really enjoyed bragging rights to being accepted to CalTech though xP

@Boss
Haha yea thanks :slight_smile: only thing that worries me is the possibility of that being the beginning of the end :stuck_out_tongue: But I still have one uni with a great offer, so that is the worst case scenario :P

@Rishav
Haha you and your worrying hey bro! :stuck_out_tongue:
Well done on that 1000th post, I’m not active enough across CC :P

@lboss Thanks! Btw, with FA, you don’t need to worry about affording the college, because they will not admit you unless they can pay you close to what you require. So, if oh get an acceptance from somewhere, you can be sure to be able to afford it!

Anyway, this thread is a very different thing on CC, and I’m sure it’s one of very few here (I haven’t seen any more). Come may, or even June, we’ll all be placed somewhere, and raring to go. This may have started out as a Dartmouth thread, but it has grown to much more than that!
