Dartmouth RD 2025

You are required to upload a signed tax return for your FA application. Dartmouth’s website states this. With it being a required document, it just means this was missing from your file and they sent you an email about it.

Hope you are accepted, but don’t read into this.

I understand that it is required, but if the email is nothing more than “hey you have a missing file, and we just want it because it is required” then why didn’t they send it to everyone who didn’t submit it? I have friends who haven’t submitted it, and they didn’t get an email today. I am not saying I will get accepted. I just now know I haven’t been straight-up rejected, and I consider that to be a good sign lol. That’s all.

From which country are you?

We have not put much stock in stats, especially this year, but our son is an rd applicant with 1550 SAT, 4.0 unweighted (97), 9 APs, 4 yrs: varsity XC, swim (captain) and tennis, 12 years of Suzuki violin, 4 years orchestra, debate team, 2+ yrs lifeguard (full time summer, part time school year), solid essays and solid LOR and he is fully expecting a rejection. He has no “hooks.” He has applied to 13 schools, and so far has 4 accepts, 3 WL, and 2 rejections. Waiting on 4 ivies, which we expect will be rejections. Also deferred SCEA from Yale (where he has legacy status). Dartmouth is his first choice at this point. Again, expecting rejection.

Exactly - it’s exhausting. They desperately are looking for something to grasp ahold of that indicates they’re going to be accepted, where it doesn’t exist (as skieurope has said about 20 times).

Where are his accepts and wl’s? I would bet he’s going to get into an Ivy. He may not have that one “hook” as you say, but, he certainly has an extremely “stacked” resume.

I don’t think that’s the case. All we are trying to see is that we are still being considered by Dartmouth knowing that there are nine days left before decisions come out. I don’t know what’s so “exhausting” about this.

Has anyone heard anything about King’s Scholars’ so far? Any interview request, additional documents required etc etc?

Also, is an interview absolutely necessary for admitted students at Dartmouth?

Accepted UD, Catholic, Bucknell and Colby. WL at UChicago, Midd, Colgate. He’s very excited about Colby and they offered a great aid package. He thought he had a tiny chance of being accepted at an Ivy, but that was before the surge in applications.

He’s got a great list of options plus he may get in from one of the waitlists. I still have a feeling, with his credentials, he gets into an Ivy- fingers crossed!! My son is comically hoping he doesn’t get into Harvard/Dartmouth as he really wants to go to St. Andrews and doesn’t want the option of the Ivy.

I thought you applied early Decision or where you deferred?

What a great position for your son to be in!! And thanks for the positive vibes.

I know it’s way too late for this, but I just noticed that my subject test shows up twice on the portal. I self reported my sat, sat 2, and ap scores on the common app. I later sent my sat and sat 2 officially bc I was on fee waiver and might as well get it over with. The sat itself shows up once, but the subject test shows up twice. Is this going to get me in trouble or affect my admission in any way? ThanksScreenshot 2021-03-28 171257

No.

This is a non-issue. No.

One is reported by you and the other one they received it from CB. So it is not an issue at all.

Bucknell > Colby

Noted:)

Perhaps you should start a separate thread comparing Bucknell with Colby as this thread is focused on Dartmouth.

Hi everyone! I have a question. So far I’ve been rejected by 4 schools and waitlisted by 1 with no acceptances. Do you think that I might still have at least the slimmest chance to get accepted to Dartmouth? Have you heard of people who get rejected by all schools and then get into an Ivy?

Rejected: Yale, Tufts, Case Western, Pomona

WL: Trinity College
