Ok so this might sound weird but I'd like some opinions. I'm a 12th grade girl and I'm really getting to know this 10th grader (weird, I know...)
So, all my friends are saying that would be gross if I dated him but I MEAN SERIOUSLY, how it is "normal" for a 12th grade male to take a 10th grade girl to prom but not the other way around?
Would it really be that wrong to date him?
Lol, I feel weird just posting this.

It only seems weird because you are in high school. Traditionally, men go out with younger women, not vice-versa. However, once you get to a certain age--say 25 then it all just blends in. But if you really do like him, go ahead. Don't let others stop you.

nothing wrong with that.

honestly.

now if you were a 12th grade MALE senior, then maybe it'd be a lil different.

but to be honest....it's not weird...at all...

if you were in 10th grade, even at my school, i dont think it would make a difference.

*****As long as seniors don't date freshman, everything is cool.

Divide your age by 2 and add seven. ;] That's the lowest age you can go.

Or just ask yourself if it's weird and go from there. It depends on the maturity levels of the participants, something strangers on the internet aren't privy to.

It really depends on the individual - with some people, it would be extreeeemely weird for a female senior to date a sophomore guy, BUT with, i think, most people, it's totally fine.

Lols thanks for the opinions guys...I like to think i'm very mature for my age (i've had to be) and he's really smart, not sure how mature..we'll seee.

LOL 15.5?!?!?! Hhahaa.

Round up kthx.

Personally though, I've never dated anyone who wasn't at least 2 years older than I am.

Lol lucky, good looking guys are sooo hard to come by at my school i've got to settle for ones that are a bit too young. Darn it.

LOL YES. I live by this rule. Nobody else has ever heard of it; they give me weird looks when I talk about it.

Also works in reverse -- to find the oldest you can go, subtract seven and multiply by two. :) For those of you who are math-challenged...

^but what if you see an attractive girl and you don't know what her age is and then you end up dating and then break the rule living you live by because you actually love her.

^Haha, I thought everyone knew that rule?!?

"Divide your age by 2 and add seven. ;] That's the lowest age you can go. "

I'll tell you now, this rule does not bode well for 80 year old men

^Um, yeah it does? Why WOULDN'T an 80 year old man want to get with a 47 year old woman?! Lol.

Why WOULD a 47 year old woman get with an 80 year old man

Lol I've never heard of that rule before ;] but i'm up for new information. And if you fall in love with a girl than who really cares about the bounds of propriety right? ;]

^ Gold digger?

^^Lol, doesn't really matter, since we were speaking from the POV of the old man...
Anyway, ask Holly Madison, surely she has an answer.

Lol, in her case...its gold digger and....ew ew
