The snag: 86th percentile SSAT
Had a cousin who attended the school [2nd cousin]

NERVOUS!

i can’t really chance you because i don’t knwo what schools you are applying for and what grade.

what school, what grade …

also, 86th percentile is by no means a snag. it’s just… there. basically, after the 85th percentile, it just doesn’t matter anymore because you’re demonstrating sufficient mental capability. obviously a 99th > 86th, but they’re not all that different (they’re only a few questions!). 86th wont hurt, wont help. get it ?
especially if you’re applying for say… cushing, 86th would def help, but for andover, it doesn’t really do anything

She is applying for 10th grade. also applied to Deerfield, where she was wait listed last year, Choate, Lawrenceville, Hotchkiss, Middlesex and Loomis

I don’t know if this reply will be duplicative of the one that I posted to another commentor, but my daughter is applying for 10th grade. She was wait listed at Deerfield last year. This year, in addition to Exeter, she applied to Deerfield, Hotchkiss, Middlesex, Lawrenceville, Choate and Loomis. Lawrenceville is our 2nd choice.

Why don’t you just wait until tomorrow and find out?

Kind of don’t have a choice there! Tomorrow will come, on way or another!

Even for Andover which is arguably one of the most selective prep schools, the average SSAT percentile was 92%.
Your daughter has a very good chance to get into at least one of the schools she applied to.

I would say she would be in the running for each of those places. But I guess you’ll know very shortly. Good luck.

what was the outcome?
