Dean's Honor Scholarship...

<p>The notification date was yesterday (February 20). I know I probably did not get it, but I was just wondering if anyone here got notified about it yesterday???</p>

<p>On Tulane's Facebook page, several students indicated they were notified that they were winners via Fedex last week, on Feb 16. Tulane Admissions had said on their messageboard that they would notify students by mid February, around the 15th.</p>

<p>So sadly, I think if you did not hear by now, you did not get one. Hopefully I am wrong, since my son was in the running too. No Fedex today though, and no mail yet.</p>

<p>Yep, just got a letter today, saying "unfortunately we are not able to offer you a Dean's Honor Scholarship..." oh well I'm probably going to UF anyway....</p>

<p>I received a Dean's Honor Scholarship. It came via FedEx on Monday (2/19). They sent the letter inside a very nice leather notepad book.</p>

<p>The letter did say they only gave out 50 this year. I believe it has been closer to 100 in the previous few years.</p>

<p>Just checked my email and found a letter telling me I got accepted into the Honors Program with a scholarship of $22,000/yr for 4 years. I applied with the fasttrack app as an international student. I seriously didn't think I'd get accepted into Tulane coz I had so many holes in my app b/c of moving to America just a year ago, but i'm relieved!</p>

<p>I received my notification via FedEx as well, the day before Mardi Gras (Feb. 19). I also heard that they gave out significantly fewer Dean's this year. Btw, who got the Dean's and is def. going?</p>

<p>My son was notified that he did not get it. In the letter they reminded him of his $18k award, and said he was still eligible for additional merit aid. So he wrote a letter listing the reasons why he felt he was deserving of the additional aid. Maybe it will help, we're keeping fingers crossed. He also has other options at this point, so we'll see.</p>

<p>I'm wondering why they decreased the number of DHS's this year, and if it is related to Katrina repair expenses.</p>
