Dean's List

Does anyone know what the requirements are to make Dean's List (or USC equivalent) at Marshall?

If your semester GPA is 3.5 or above, you are on the Dean’s List.

Do they have different categories? For example, if you get a 4.0 is there a different list?

For Dean’s List, it’s just 3.5+
But for undergraduate degree honors: 3.5 for cum laude, 3.7 for magna cum laude and 3.9 for summa cum laude

No. I’m still wondering if they post an A+ as an A or as an A+. It makes a difference when applying for professional schools.

I don’t think USC gives A+'s. I believe the highest grade that can appear on your transcript is an “A”.

Does anyone know where you can find the USC Marshall dean’s list?

I don’t think Marshall has a dean’s list. Or at least I’ve never been notified about being on it. It MIGHT be included on the CLAS dean’s list, but I don’t think it is.

Marshall does have a deans list I got an email saying I was on it.

My youngest son in Marshall was notified yesterday that he was on it as well. 3.5 and above GPA

I should be on the Dean’s List, I made well over a 3.5, but I don’t know where to find the theatre one… it’s not in with CLAS I don’t think.

Wisdom,

It will be in the USC School of Theatre. They may not post the list on the website.

ah, ok, thanks. One of my older friends said apparently the SOT doesn’t have a Dean’s List? :P

never mind, my parents got a letter from the SOT saying I’m on the “honors list.” :)

Congrats! 10 characters

can someone tell me what does this requirement means?? undergraduate degree honors: 3.5 for cum laude, 3.7 for magna cum laude and 3.9 for summa cum laude

Those are for honors at graduation. If your GPA for your entire undergraduate career is 3,5 to 3.69 you graduate “Cum Laude.” If your GPA for all four years is 3.7 to 3.89 you graduate “Magna Cum Laude.” If your 4-year GPA is 3.9 or higher, you are “Summa Cum Laude.”

Those are not requirements, they are honors.

Oh, and a rough translation from the Latin would be “With Honor,” “With High Honor,” and “With Highest Honor,” respectively.

Oh that makes sense now lol. I want to aim for the Renaissance Scholar which requires university honors and I didn’t know what those latin words are for. Thanks!

Wow, the last day of finals was yesterday, and they’ve already sent letters? That’s some fast grading!
