To Dean J- I wasn't able to figure out a way to send you a Private Message. I have a quick question about applications.

I applied to schools yesterday but forgot to mention two things about myself. Firstly, I skipped the 8th grade and went straight into high school. Secondly, I transferred to a private high school in 10th grade. My new high school limited the number of AP/ Honors classes students could take to 3 a year. They refused to allow me to take any advanced courses till the 11th because I was a transfer. However, to make up, in the 11th and 12th they allowed me to take 4 AP/Honors classes, th most of any student in the grade.

Is this information important, and is there anyway I can get it to colleges now that I have submitted the common app?

Thanks for your response. Very true, I should probably have confirmed with him before he submitted his rec. I’ll speak with him tomorrow when school opens.

And if he didn’t mention them, what should be my course of action?

You can email the admissions office with this info. I would first talk to your GC and see if he/she mentioned any of this, and if not, send a note. UVa probably knows of the AP limits for your school from the school profile your GC is supposed to send, but not of the skipping 8th grade

Also, I suggest emailing rather than snail mail; if you read Dean J’s blog, they’ve attempted to go all-paperless. Also, you can attach a read receipt request to guarantee it makes it there okay
