<p>when their teachers write the rec letters, is it necessary that they address the particular school each copy is being sent to?</p>
<p>or is it expected to be generalized as in "dear the admissions committee" or "to whom it may concern"</p>
<p>They know that their applicants will be applying to multiple schools and therefore the recommendations are copied and reused. It won’t matter to the recipients. They’ve got more things on their plate than demoting your chances because a rec didn’t have the “correct” salutation.</p>
