How was Lit guys?

awful. I couldn’t concentrate & ended up running out or time for the last 5. I wanted around a 700, but I’d be surprised if I got even close to that considering the usual curve

I couldn’t concentrate and think very well; runny nose really makes taking tests cumbersome. There was this one passage I had to skip completely and then came back later to finish the questions but I still felt unsure about all the answers I put down. Poetry will be my bane.

horrible…i wish i took math 1 or something instead haha

whats the curve like for lit?
i failed on like all the poems…

i think it’s pretty harsh. usually only 0 or -1 =800

I just took it today and thought it wasn’t too bad. I prepped with the Barron book for it which helped a lot. I think it was all about pacing and not sacrificing too much time figuring out the passages/poems.

I took it cold; shouldn’t have done that… too much school work grr

I was so, so, so, so happy I took the test last month–three passages were the same, with a few of the sames q’s!!! Hoping for a 750 this time around!

^really? I might take it in January then lol, but then again, i’ll probably get the same questions wrong

I thought the poem titled “Man” was easy. The one about a ship in the storm, and the images of land vs. sea, and the man called… ugh, I can’t remember his name anymore… was rather difficult though.

B…k something. yeah, i got stuck on that too and lost a lot of time

I’m looking at the Lit thread from October 2009 right now, and I’ve noticed that several of today’s passages were repeats from that month.

Can we start compiling a list?

Farming One

Youth and Old

Buckington or something

Empress of the Blues…

Man and Restlessness

The Podsnaps

I can’t believe Collegeboard repeated passages. That blows my mind. Do they do this often, or are they just lazy?

^I was unsure of most of my answers so my list would be useless

How about the modern poem about the singer?

For the gray wooden block thingies, I put that the images there symbolized “deception” - choice (E).

Then I also got that the contrast between 1-4 and 7-10 was dealing with societal vs. personal issues…

I said deception too but not societal vs personal…or maybe i did?

I said societal vs. personal, but I put tawdriness instead of deception. I remember struggling with the latter question.

I struggled w/ the whole test. literature is not my strong suit & I didn’t have a chance to study whatsoever

…and then on the question that was a “sixty-watt” gloom, and then it had the following choices:

I. atmosphere of night club
II. grief of singer (or something like that)
III. distant voice

I remember putting I and II…
