December 11 SSAT

*I’m not stressed at all, everything’s done, just have to submit it

*I still have essays to do… Pondering over them.

I’m not stressed beside this.

Nice… Good to see that I’m not the only one who’s pondering over the essays. So far-

*I will not think about applications until March 10th. I am completely done with everything now! (scales1994?)
*I am absolutely hopeless. Other people are doing way better than me. I have no chance of getting in. (NONE! Good sign people!)
*I want to get in super bad… Help God, help me! (sallyshelly, beatlesforever, AngEverlasting)
*I think I have a slight chance… maybe? (heps1996, beatlesforever, AngEverlasting)
*I still have essays to do… Pondering over them. (sallyshelly, heps1996, DiveAlive, SnapePotter, AngEverlasting)
*Ahhhh! Interviews! What am I going to do? (sallyshelly, DiveAlive, AngEverlasting)
*I will get in this year! I have to get in this year! I believe I will get in! (sallyshelly, heps1996, beatlesforever, AngEverlasting)

@sallyshelly-
As you can see, my choices are-
*I want to get in super bad… Help God, help me!
*I still have essays to do… Pondering over them.
*Ahhhh! Interviews! What am I going to do?
*I will get in this year! I have to get in this year! I believe I will get in!

EVERYBODY ELSE- CHOOSE ONE OR MORE!

Do I have to turn essays in by interview, or by due date?

I’d like to know about that also… ^^ Would it be better to turn them in before the interview? Would it hurt to hand them in after the interview?

due date obviously. or if it’s a hard copy you can hand in by interview, but your interview should preferably be before due date.

First Post! Have been a lurker for a while, but finally decided to join. What do you think of scores? Originally took in October, verbal was about an 85 %tile, math a 78%tile and reading a 56%ile. Of course I had to retake. Now reading is really good, verbal is quite good, and math is eh…:frowning: applying to HADES schools and other major non HADES. I know math is low (some people have lower) but should I be concerned? Will the AOs look past this? Thanks in advance.

Verbal Score 756
(Personal Score Range: 735 - 777, SSAT Percentile 93%)

Math Score 732
(Personal Score Range: 711 - 753, SSAT Percentile 72%)

Reading Score 734
(Personal Score Range: 713 - 755, SSAT Percentile 97%)

Total Score 2217
(Personal Score Range: NA, SSAT Percentile 93%)

PS after I took the test, I thought I did amazing in math… Anyone else?

^ same! i thought i got perfect, but alas it was not meant to be… </3

haha i made 2 mistakes in math, which put me at 96th percentile. strange, because i made 3 mistakes in verbal and omitted 2, and still got 99th percentile. hmmmm

^Math isnt bad at all, the math section is skewed hardly so you’re fine

Thanks for opinions. Hopefully they give a blind eye…

Are you guys using the national percentile or the other one?

Would a 90% overall be acceptable? If you completely bombed one section, that is. COMPLETELY bombed. I don’t have time to have a re-take. Is there just the slightest chance?

I too have been just observing for a while. All my apps are completed and my SSAT score was 2199 - 89%. I was reading old posts about waitlist and hooks. Does anyone have info about what percentage of waitlist turns into accept and what are the HOOKS that help acceptance chances. Many posters stated that FA applicants have a tougher time getting accepted. Is this true? What is URM? Thanks-

URM- Underrepresented Minority

^ I’d like to know about that also.

@SSATfreak

A 90 percent overall (on the SSAT overall, not the national score) is great! On par with all of the schools discussed on here, it would seem. So long as your grades in the subject you didn’t do well on reflect that you are competent in the subject, I’m sure you’re fine. One poor (section of a) test can’t be a make or break acceptance, especially when you did so well on the other two!

@rolopolo- Thank you so much for the information, I truly appreciate it.
