December 15

I still win :D

How long will "we west coasters" have to wait, exactly? Like, monday or tuesday? Because beyond that, I'm not sure I can handle it. I will simply cease to function.

Decisions will be mailed the 13th from Georgetown. Starting the 17th, EA candidates may call Undergraduate Admissions to find out their decisions.

I was told from a person close with the matter.

Ah! I really hope I get mine no later than Monday, since I'm in New Mexico. That's 6 days! I wish they could just mail them right now. But I suppose they must not be ready to go, or else they would. Its strange to think that they've already made the decision about whether I'm good enough or not, but I won't find out for another week.

I don't know if I would want to call to find out unless it was automated. It would suck if you got deferred talking to someone you don't really know and started crying or something. I'll just wait til the 17th or 18th for the letter.

I called and got the same answer soph12 spoke of.

Imagine what'd it'd be like to get that deferral letter on the 18th after you call and had a stranger tell you you weren't accepted the day before. I'm not calling no matter what.

I just called admissions and they said they sent some out today and are sending the rest out tomorrow! That means that some people might hear friday!!

They sent some out today?!?!?! I called this morning and they said they were sending them tomorrow... can anyone confirm that they sent some today?

yup I just called and they confirmed they sent some out today. they're trying to stagger them so that everyone receives their letters on saturday.

So does that mean they sent out the west coast ones earlier? Because if they did, I AM SO EXCITED.

i was told by some1 that if you havnt received an acceptance letter yet, you didnt get in
:S
TENSE!!

I can attest that all letters will be sent out tomm. It's possible that a very small amount went out today, but based on the order I know they did things, anything sent out before tomm is probably not an acceptance letter.

Staggering is a good idea. Sending out the letters to people far away (i.e. west coast) a day ahead so that ultimately everyone gets the letter with no separation or maybe just one day.

I hope I get mine on Saturday before I leave!

I'm hoping they sent out Midwest, Mountain, and West Coast letters out today. I know from past experience with snailmail from DC it takes a good two days to come over here (IL).

Anyways. mikey101, jw, but how do you know that anything sent out today was a deferral? :(

I don't want to be disappointed if I don't get my letter Saturday, so I'm going to keep counting down until Monday. But Saturday would definitely be nice.

No saeraxD, what I think mikey was saying is there is a very small possibility Georgetown would send out acceptances before today and tomorrow as opposed to Gildash's comment that everyone who was accepted already received their letters. I believe the consensus is the letters sent out today were for areas where mail from DC takes longer to reach (i.e. West Coast, International). Those letters could be acceptance, deferral, or God forbid rejection. Keep your fingers crossed!

so if by some weird chance we get a letter on friday, it doesnt necessarily mean that it is def. a deferral? or mikey, do u think that they would send out deferrals earlier so that just all of the acceptance kids hear the same day?

I'm pretty sure we are overanalyzing this, and should probably just wait and see.

"Those letters could be acceptance, deferral, or God forbid rejection. Keep your fingers crossed!"

Georgetown doesn't reject anyone Early Action. Only two decisions are deferred or accepted. :)
