i have not gotten my scores. this is so frustratinggg… I have a meeting with my college guidance counselor as soon as I get back to school. I need my scores. Have people that took the plus writing gotten their scores? because that is what i did and my status still just says registered.

^ Mine is still registered too. And same here. This is NOT the time to delay scores, seeing that I need to know WHAT TO SEND by Jan. 1st.

To be honest doctorje24, I come from a good school and I’m a junior - a lot of you guys are taking it as freshmen which is really weird in my opinion but whatever. I’m already taking BC Calc so Math was easy and I read a lot for fun so hence didn’t need to prep.

But i think i’ll do some prep do it in February and get a 35/36.

PS. Got my essay back - it was a 12 which is nice but it didn’t change my composite score?

Carbon - The essay has nothing to do with your composite. It will be included in your combined english/writing score.

youwiththeface - Do you feel that your writing deserved better than a 6? If so, you can have them rescored. It takes a couple of weeks and costs $35.00. If they feel, after rescoring, that it deserved higher, they will refund your money and resend to all your schools.

I took the ACT w/ writing and received my composite score on the 28th and then my writing score on the 29th. I assume that anyone who doesn’t have their scores yet made mistakes on the preliminary forms or their testing sites turned in the papers late.

Composite - 30

English - 29
Math - 26
Reading - 33
Science - 30
Writing - 27
- I got an 8 on my essay.

I always get 8’s on my essays. Took the SAT twice and the ACT twice, and I’ve gotten an 8 on every single one.

I’m not looking into Ivies though, so a 30 is great for me! I increased from a 27!
And now I can go to USC! (Most likely.) I’M SO HAPPY!

Wow, I got a 11 on my essay (35 on english and a 34 when combined with the essay). I am actually really happy about that score, I ran out of time and couldn’t finish my conclusion, and some of the stuff I talked about was really weird (I talked about how my mom threw my xbox out the window).

I got a 35 composite, but only by rounding up. However, my Science was pretty poor, only made a 31. And my essay was awful too due to me not managing my time at all. I’m not going to say what it was, but it brought down my combined English score quite a bit. Sad, I may actually have to retake this.

I got an 11 on the essay. Yay! Overall, though, I was really disappointed with my scores. I might take the Feb. test, as a couple of the schools I’m applying to still take them… Bleh.

9 essay. Essay was worth a 10 though… Urgh

theq, don’t worry too much about the essay.
it doesn’t count much at any school, whether it be top, bottom or middle ranked schools.
there is basically no school that even publishes the average writing score for accepted students.
bottom line is that the composite # is the key score that is used.
unless you score something like a 2, don’t worry about the essay (combined english score).
good luck

I got my writing score Tuesday–a 10! I thought it would be lower since I forgot examples. So I’m glad! I got 31 writing +essay–32 writing (up four points).

@ hudablossom - how do you calculate the essay into the writing score?

And what is the writing score? Is that the English score?

You don’t personally calculate the essay into the English/Writing combined score. ACT does that for you.

Your score report will be separated into distinct sections beginning with
Composite Score
English Score*
Math Score
Reading Score
Science Score
Essay Score
English/Writing Score

Basically, the essay score will appear on its own (2-12). It is then calculated in conjunction with your *English score to give your a combined English/Writing score.

But the essay doesn’t seem to matter very much to colleges. Somehow I wish it did since I’ve gotten 12’s on all the ACT’s I’ve taken, but oh well.

I’m a little disappointed, was hoping for a 34 at best. Oh well, not much of a difference. I did pretty bad on the Science though - a 29 I’m still not sure if I’m going to take it a second time. I’ll wait to see how I do on the SAT - taking that 1/23!

So yeah no one who took it from my test center got their scores. WTH! And it’s a really reputable school too, and usually is organized and serious. If they say they let you in at 8… they let you in at 8 and start soon after. This is really annoying me… especially during college times…

I still haven’t gotten my Essay scores. Is anyone else in the same boat?

Lol, I waited for mine to come in the mail.

I got a 29 composite, which I am content with for the first time.

Eng- 31
Reading- 30
Math 27
Sci-25

I think that was the breakdown.

Little surprised I did that bad at math. I’m not a “strong” math student, I’m in the highest level for my grade level, but I struggle and have to study a lot, but oh well. I feel I bring this section up.

I hate science. I hate science classes and this section dragged me down from getting a 30 composite, which would have been awesome first crack. Oh, well gonna register for the next one soon.

I think there is a thread up about the Sci. section, but if not, I’ll be PMing some of you with high Science scores, if you don’t mind.

I haven’t gotten any scores…

got the composite score last monday but still waiting for the essay score.
