what did guys get for the problem about phone dial stuff? It was asking two digit+one symbol things. I put 9 w/o reasons…am i right

for the last question on math i got A

non-experimental writing was: paragraph correction about computers and chess.

Anyone agree or had computers/chess?

5 had to be it. is right in the middle so it touches every number except 0… 0 touches the signs. u cant make a code with 5 in it.

i put 9 too because i thought it was close to the symbols on the keypad…^yup i agree!!! thank god!

thought it was 9 for the keypad?

^i meant i agree with the nonexperimental part…i thought it was 9 too…

so for the critical reading…what did u guys get for the short passages about the sea i think…did you guys say playing with human motivation or something

I put “5”.

WHY “9” is wrong:

http://www.keypadletters.com/uploads/1/4/3/7/1437708/4025361.png

Code was: (digit), (digit), (symbol)

So, with “9”, you can still do: (1), (3), (*)

i believe it was 22 for the pencil question (grid in).

for the pencil im sure it was 26…

take more than 1 of half which is 13+1 = 14

26-14 = 12

take 1 less than half of that
12 - 6 + 1 = 7

the answer to the keypad one was obviously 5, it cant be 9 because 9 1 * would be a possible combination, 5 touched every other number except 0, but 0 touched both symbols which cant be right.

I got “26” for the pencil question

26/2 + 1 = 14

(26-14)/2 - 1 = 5

7 remain

thus: 14+5+7 = 26

did anyone get a passage on biofuels?

there were 7 pencils left at the end. the first person took one more than half. 22/2 = 11 + 1 = 12.

Then, the second person took one less than half of the rest. 12/2 = 6 - 1 = 5

12 - 5 = 7

i think that’s how I did it.

26 for the pencil question. 26/2 is 13, and the first girl took 1 more than half. so she took 14. then 12 would be remaining. Second girl took one less than half the 12, which is 5. 12-5=7. Also phone question was definitely 5.

@battlebrick, it was half of whatever was left. so that wuld mean 10 would be left after taking 12, according to ur solution.

taking 1 less than half of 10 wuld result in 6. not 7

wow, i did the pencil question completely wrong.

For the sentence completion, I said animus (hostility or ill feeling) which makes sense in context.
Yup. There was definitely a passage on biofuels.
Was the experimental section math? I only had two writing sections…

What was the answer to the question that was like, t is 15% of w and t is r% of 20? I didnt have enough time to do that one (and the marbles question) so I guessed. t<r<w?
