OCTOBER 2011 SAT Curve

What does everyone predict the curve to be? Based on some forum members, the test was harder than expected..?

Math curve will definitely be better. Writing and critical reading will pretty much be standard. I expect the CR curve to be similar to the march one, which wasn’t so generous

Yes, I feel the same about math…

It wasn’t like anything I’ve ever experienced O_O

I completely agree. On the practice tests I am normally 52 to 54 raw, and my highest SAT score was 53 raw. But I think I did worse this time. hurray for superscore

im thinking of rushing scores just to see what i got and deciding if i need to register for november for retake. what does everyone think?

math: -1 780. -2 760, -3 750
cr: -2 800, -3 780, -4 770, -5 750
writing: -1 77, -2 75, -3 73

my predictions

I think writing will be somewhat generous, because there was a diction question on there. There were no diction questions on the June SAT nor any other past QAS’s. I only know of it because of Silverturtle’s guide.

What do you think CR curve will be? I was thinking either harder or medium-hard…but not easy.

CR Curve will be pretty good I think (and hope). The Nuke passage was a killer.

CR I don’t really know. The vocab was really easy but that art passage… UGH

I really hope the critical reading curve is good. I need above 700! ahh I think my score is pretty borderline depending on what the curve is so i’m hoping it’s good.
I know I did pretty badly on the math, so even if there is a good curve I probably won’t do better than what I already have so thank youuuu super scoring.
For writing if there is a good curve I MAY do better, but I’m not really counting on it. I did get the diction question right tho so who knows and I think I did better on my essay (fingers crossed)

there was a diction question, on #29 collaborate is supposed to be corroborate

I think my essay was pretty good and I didn’t miss the diction problem either :)

Last time I got 650 on writing, but I was constantly scoring 700-800 on my practice tests, so I hope this time I got at least a 740!

^ Ya that collaborate/corroborate one was the diction one. I ALMOST changed it at the last minute to be wrong, because I hadn’t seen a diction question on any of the practice ones I did. I remember one of the other options for that one sounded awkward too so I had trouble deciding. I’m so glad I went with my gut though. I probably made other careless errors in that section though so I need all the points I can get haha.

For me, I was like… hmmm, i don’t see anything wrong, and then i tried again, and again, and then was like. wait… collaborate doesnt make sense ROFL…

So i was like right, it should be corroborate. then i chose it haha

what was the sentence with collaborate?

Hmm, can’t recall now…

anyone could help shed some light?

it had something to do with the news saying not to collaborate with someones ideas or something. it made absolutely no sense lol

was that an experimental? i don’t remember seeing it (or it could just be i got it wrong)

^ Yeah, I don’t remember seeing it either…
(then again, I also could’ve just gotten it wrong).
