so for the which theory is most correct i said it was the student who said that when the wax runs out the candle dies which seems logical? also i put north pole for N because nothing in that entire section said anything about nanometers i read it over like 3 times and there was an S opposite the end so

It was student 4

are we talking about nV? i’m not sure. that was nanometers

And did anyone remember about the shrub question in the science portion? It went like “why did they put the shrubs adjacent to each other?” or something to that nature. I put dominant species after debating if it was climate because they didn’t mention anything about a climate.

Does someone know how to do a google docs?

I also put dominant species. I crossed out climate right away and the other two options were some other independent/dependent variables in the experiment.

The correct student was student 1 because… he/she literally described how candles work lol. Wax is a hydrocarbon that reacts with oxygen in a combustion reaction, producing a flame. If you put a jar over a candle, it will stop burning when the oxygen runs out (oxygen is the limiting reactant in that scenario). It’s pretty basic chemistry.

I also chose student 1 based on chemistry knowledge. But I started to do that passage (did it in the end) with 3 and half minutes left so wasn’t sure if I misread something…

everyone around me was saying student 4, which made me so nervous… cuz I could have got wrong in many other questions if I read it wrong

@thanksagain You are forgetting that climate can also refer to percipitation and other weather phenomena.
Also, insulation is NOT the same thing as heat transfer, although a lot of people eek to think it is.

does anyone remember any of the other questions in the conflicting viewpoints passage

I put student 1and wat was the equation for the burning?

j

So you needed background info to answer the candle question correctly? Shoot. I put student 4 :((

O2 + Wax or something? That’s what i put for the first part of the equation

how do i open the doc??

if someone’s making a gdoc… give us the link through bit.ly bc CC censors google doc and google drive links

For the equation, I put wax + O2–> H20 and something else

Theres no risk of ACT catching us for talking bout this right?

@cooldude1098 i was wondering the same thing

I goofed and left the equation one for last, but then forgot about it and left it blank. I also put student 4 for the theory one. I’m expecting a negative score on the science section haha.
