Ok, so to study for the ACT it’s mainly concepts right? For example, when you are studying for the math section you would want to know formulas, steps to equations and graphing. Or for the English section you would want to know pronouns, verbs, Subject- Verb agreement, and stuff in the manner right?

@master1006 @1golfer1 Cool! Thanks for the clarification/explanation!

@XxEggRollKingxX The scales are modified each test; don’t use that one as a guide.
I do find it hard to believe that a 55% on the science section is an “average” score, considering that educated guessing alone can get you about 15 questions right.

@Danwgun I got 4 questions out of 12 on the animal behavior passage, only 1 other wrong on CR. **** CB.
63, 76, 80 = 219, which would be good enough anywhere but CA. **** NMSC too.
ACT is kind of better.

@1golfer1 I feel the same too about the reading section. It’s typically my WEAKEST area because I never absorb in any information after reading and always run out of time, but I felt extremely confident about my answers and finished them all with 1-2 minutes to spare. I think it’s because this time around they were far more direct and you just had to play a little game of “I-Spy.”

@JustEmily On the ACT, you have to infer maybe 5 of the 40 questions, and they’re all pretty clear. On the SAT, they’re basically all inference, and you kind of just have to hope on some of them.
If you see even one passage differently then CB does, you’re CR is killed right away.

@1golfer1 we got the same score lol, i live in a dumb state though 210 cutoff. 61(-10)R, 80(-0)M, 78(-1)W
and I think that will qualify, isn’t CA usually about 215-218?

Ah, the PSAT. My proctors last year were idiots. No five minute warning, not allowed to eat snacks, plus it was way too easy for someone to cheat with the way they had seating. Oh well. Lol

Lol… I got 185. Thanks to running out of time. Ah, oh well. The past is in the past. Gotta let it go. Now to wait for the ACT scores lol. So, the reading curve, what do you guys think it will be?

I’d agree with that. I breezed through it. One or two difficult questions, and usually passage reading is generally easy for me so it appears to be a -2 = 34?
