So what do u think 14 or 15 wrong on math would be?

So what do u think 14 or 15 wrong on math would be?

How I feel right now: <a href=“I'll Just Wait Here Meme - Imgflip”>https://imgflip.com/i/fd3bs

Math is going to be curved generously I think

Oh maybe it will be 33 then, my bad.

@ShaneBlakeEy it’s possible on a test like this one. June’s focus was reading. September was math. October was science. December one i had anticipated for it to be English, but it was math again so I’ll expect them to curve it generously add they did for September… Test is recently designed to throw off high scorers and lower the 36s achieved and bring up the average. People now score a little higher in certain sections even with guessing due to very generous curves given to the hardest section.
@cooldude1098 for 14/15x wrong I’d give you a 27 low/26 high for this math… If it was October test you’d probably get 25…

Math was too easy to have anything more than a -1 being 36 imo

Obviously not that generous but I’m thinking -8 would be a 30

English:
-1=36
-2=35
-3=34
-4/-5=33
-6=32
-7=31
-8=30
-9=29
-10/-11=28
-12=27
-13/-14=26
-15/-16=25…
Math
-1=36
-2=35
-3/-4=34
-5/-6=33
-7=32
-8=31
-9/-10=30
-11/-12=29
-13/-14=28
-15/-16/-17=27
-18/-19=26
-20/-21=25
Reading(despite relatively confusing first passage, last three were average with a few ambiguous)
-1=36
-2=35
-3=34
-4=33
-5/-6=32
-7=31
-8=30
-9=29
-10=28
-11=27
-12=26
-13=25
Science(although confusing questions, it was a typical science passage. I noticed it instantly that it was a 5,6,7 science(relief) unlike October with 6,7 passages only. Order was in increasing order.)
-1=36
-2=35
~=34
-3=33
~=32
-4=31
-5/-6=30
-7=29
-8=28
-9=27
-10=26
-11=25

Many of you will disagree about science but it is the truth… Science was not the focus section and will be off a regular curve… Disappointing and if true may also kill my score D:
Target…E=28,m=27,r=34,s=33 C=31(30.5)!! Wish everbody luck! ~7 days and counting!!

@CaptJack oh I’ll guess your composite…E=36 M=37 R=37 S=36 C=37…Ivy leagues still not happy… Well you probably have +9k hours in community service and a lot of ecs…

@Infintiever idk why you’re so salty lol, the vast majority of ACT Math sections have a -1 or -0 curve for a 36, and this one wasn’t hard enough to warrant anything different.

This curve seems pretty realistic to me

@CaptJack not even salty lol…just commending on your intellectual level… You’re pretty good at math I’d say if you get a 36… I’m just disappointed on how I missed the harder problems but was not able to crack it like the guys that said it was easy…

I’m really hoping -1 is a 36 on reading

Watch me get the worst score in this thread

@cooldude1098 ha don’t speak too soon because I’m here lol… I’ll hold the record…

@INFINTIEVER You’re being a little generous with the Reading curve, and your claim the each ACT has a “focus” on each section is unfounded. The difficulty on the Reading and Science is highly dependent upon the passages and research studies used by ACT.
As I have said, the Math will get a decent curve, the English might have an okay curve if we’re lucky, Science will have a good curve, and Reading will have a harsh curve. I think my opinion stems from the fact that I have always studied for the SAT, and some of the ACT Reading questions this time felt a lot like SAT Critical Reading questions in terms of requiring the ability to infer details not explicitly stated. Also, several of the answers changed the wordings to make them unnecessarily more confusing, just like the SAT.
In truth, we won’t have any idea of the curve until the scores start coming out next week. I think in the next few years ACT might give more time for Science – Possibly up to 45 minutes.

Fingers are crossed for a generous science/math curve. O.o I agree, the Reading was a lot like the SAT.

@GodsGem322 Ya, if we were to take the same question…
The two students described in the passage cheated because they:
ACT’s correct answer reads: wanted to impress their friends and parents
SAT’s correct answer reads: intended for their peers and mentors to experience awe

Overall, the purpose of this passage could best be described as:
ACT: describing how pressure causes students to cheat
SAT: correlating academic dishonesty to emotional strain

You basically get question wrongs not because you didn’t understand the passage, but because CollegeBoard deceived you

Mhm. I’d always get everything but like the 8 or so inference questions that I would get on the SAT. I practiced and it just still didn’t make sense. Oh well. I liked how the ACT was a lot more straightforward IMHO. @1golfer1

yeah- was it just me or was every answer choice right in the passage. There was one that wasn’t and I am not sure if I got it right or not. It was like which would best replace this statement and the choices were “take advantage of” “get energy from” and 2 others. What’d you guys get for that?
