December SAT: Math

Ohh, I see. Yes, that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.

But then again, the question never specified it had to be a fraction in the reduced form. Hmmm.

What would my scores be?
Writing: -1 or -2, Essay 10
Math: -2
Reading: -6 or -7

yea i know! but i took what i considered 'better' path and picked a 'safer' answer... :l

I don't know how to do that or if my calc has it

can someone explain to me why the absolute value one is none of the above?

ok, just type in like... .5 in ur calculator (mine is TI-83 plus)
press MATH button,
press ENTER on 1:>Frac
u'll get .5>Frac then press ENTER-> u'll see 1/2 then.

But I'm still a little iffy. I guess it's either a bad question that needs to be thrown out or an extremely good question that will trick many. I'll go with the latter.

good night everyone

The answer to the decimal place question, assuming it asked for a perfect 2 decimal answer, had to be 2.

.32 = 32/100 = 16/50

All other answers were odd, and thus gave a longer train of decimals.

i can tell you that i had -7 for a 720 in oct for cr, and -3 10 essay was a 740. your math score should be maybe a 760-770 depending on the curve. maybe a 780.

What would my scores be? (anybody willing to help? :) )
Writing: -2 , Essay 10
Math: -3 MC, -2 Grid in
Reading: -3

writing: maybe a 780ish.
math: 700ish.
cr: 770ish.

based on june curve.

Oh wow, andrea.. you've got these numbers at the top of your head. =]

how'd you do?

ahh i dont know. i can never really tell.

i think i got 750ish in cr? but there are so many disputed answers that its hard to tell what i got correct.

i cant tell for sure how many i missed in math. do you know if my grid ins are right? i had 720, .08, 48, 23, 288, 12, 8, 480, 1600, and 2. i know that the first five and 1600 are right and that 2 is wrong, but i dont know about the 12, 8, and 480. what did you get for those?

writing, its hard to tell. i filled up both pages for my essay but i am not sure how strong my examples were. i had a 740 in october though so i am satisfied with that.

Ah, I don't remember, but I did get 8 and 480. :)
which one was the "12" question?

is this your second time with the test?

third, haha.

i improved 160 points from june to october. hopefully that trend continues.

i cant remember the 12 question.

anyone know?

for the "|x|-|y|=10" one, what was the answer?

I put III, since both I and II were true, I think.

@andrea: I'm going to search this thread - the number doesn't seem so familiar.

they were all true

Umm.. was it "for the 4 number add 27 problem"? (just searched thread)
