December SAT: Math

jsmith, prolly 780ish for omit 1

The fill up of oil in his car was September. It was three months (sept) or 3,000 miles (sometime in october)

What was the number line one with 1/81 and 1. My brain just completely blocked on that one!

Anyone know the one with nickels dimes and quarters?

jsmith why wasnt it sept 1

I think it was september 1 cuz 3 moths after june 1 = sept 1

No it's not. It started with June (6th month), switches in 3 months (sept)

Stryke:

if the center of a circle on a coordinate plane is (0,0)... both the x coordinate and the y coordinate equal zero.

so you shouldve gotten (I,II,III)

why does the sat torture me so much.

|x| - |y| = 10

x-y ?

One choice was MUST be positive

-60 and 50 makes it negative

Another was MUST be less than 100

60 amd -50 makes it above 100

Third was could equal 0

x - y = 0
x = y
When x and y are equal, you cant subtract them and get 10.

I put sept 1 too! Please tell me that was correct!!! I am so screwed.

Stryke:

Assume the point on the circle is something like (3,0)

In which case the radius would be 3, just the x coordinate, a.

Apply the distance formula to the above point, see if it makes more sense to you then.

it's definitely september 1st.

Sept 1 is right!

It said 3000 miles after.... not 3 months after...

june was 10642
November was 10802 or something like that

it is correct. jsmith must be wrong

Did the chart start at June?

jsmith, it said every 3000 miles or 3 months, whichever comes FIRST. Sept 1 came first.

it said 3 months OR 3000 miles and 3 months came first ...
correct answer = sept 1

anyone remember the answer to the Rst question and how to get that answer?

Alright what was the answer with the # line where x +y = 3
