December's SAT test disscusion

I got 2000 for the crates one, but 6 root 3 for the last question.

efeens, it doesn’t matter the prob of the first. My work shows that the prob of selecting a matching pencil is 1/4… Therefore, the prob of not selecting a match is 3/4

ah okay. i think i did well on math because i finally stopped trying to approach everything with a math approach; for example, the question about the median that was the last of its section, i literally wrote out every bit of data (37 pieces) and crossed out to get the median haha

Omg i add it wrong
i thought 800+1200= 1800 = =
nooooo

efeens, that’s the way I solved the median one, too! Hahaha, luckily I had a LOT of time left over on that one.

Did you get that the median was unchanged, btw?

yep i did. that one was so easy for the last one of the section. what’d you get for the one before it (i think it was before…) but it was the one with the circle with the four points that were of equal length. i eliminated everything greater than 6 and guessed 6 but i had no idea.

It was 12 I’m pretty sure

Also, not all segments were equal… One set of two were equal, and another set of two were equal

how could it have been 12 though? the points were all on the circle and the radius was 6

Diameter is 12, which was the distance from p to q

damn then i got that wrong. i had extra time too and didnt go back to it. that’s one i got wrong. the other one i completely guessed on (w miles expressed in terms of x and y) i think was experimental.

karatekidd, any other hard questions you can remember?

Hmm, I can’t really think of very many…

@efeens44

do you remember the entire question with the miles in x and y?

what was the one with the graph of f(c) did anyone get one half? I guessed in the last ten seconds and the box with the black tape, was it 39 inches?were there four tutors who went more than once? lol I guessed 12 for circle q. also for CR, can u name some answers for the math professor passage

I don’t think 1.5 was a chooce, i dun remember
i got 39 too
yep
i got not enough info on that one

Edit: I had 3 writing sections

did anyone get a writing section with like no “a’s” and very little “b’s”?

umm for the f(c) it was 0. im 100 percent sure

For the math professor passage, I think one easier question was about the professor’s “great respect” for things out of his range, which prompted me to pick some answer that talked about how he realized his limitations.
Or something or other. :P

@airado exactly what i got. The section with no a and 2 b’s was section 6. I think either that or section 1 was experimental. my guess is 6.

For the Culture passage, was one of the answers how it threatens individuality or how it separates two sides of a culture

any other answers for reading?

Why do I not remember any of these questions that people are discussing lol? Are there different experimental sections or something?
