Congrats to those who got their acceptances already! Fingers crossed for those still waiting!! If anyone is visiting Webster next week (Wed - Sat), and wants to meet, send me a PM. Our family will be there visiting Junior MT daughter & seeing “Dancing at Lughnasa”. Do they still send the certificates along with the acceptance letters?

Thecheckbook- I’m a transfer and I received my acceptance yesterday.

Bigismama- Yes, they still send the certificate with it :)

Congratulations Bird7887 and thank you for the information!

sigh…no Webster mail again today here either…D is still staying positive, but I have to admit I’m getting discouraged. Seems like an acceptance should have arrived here by now…

Also no mail from Webster. I have to assume that this means a rejection – we need to move on and start planning followup trips to other schools and making a decision. It is frustrating. But, what can you do . . . .

Let’s not throw in the towel until the week is over! There seems to be so many crazy stories of acceptances/rejections at scattered times for so many schools. Also, I heard they have a waitlist this year, perhaps they are on there way. Good luck and tomorrow is another day!

Thanks for the pep talk. I needed that! We are soooooooooooooooo ready to make a decision and move on to get excited about where she is going to be next year.

oh dear… i’m sorry for those of you who don’t have answers yet. I feel for you. hang in there.

Pohsmom is right. They DO have a waitlist this year. In the letter we received they said they “had the largest number of applicants for the class… because we had so many strong applicants we also have a waiting list for the 2009 class.”

I haven’t read of anyone wait-listed yet on the master facebook group for MT or on this forum, so anything is possible still. Though I’m sure there are some young people who don’t post on Facebook, I would venture a lot do and I haven’t counted even 20 people that have gotten word either way.

I’m going to keep my fingers crossed that there’s still good news out there for you.
All the Best to you!

Thank you BiGismama!

We were going to go next week, but we couldn’t work out a good airfare. So we’re going on the 28th through the 30th. Decisions have to be made by the 1st and it’s going to be close! That means we’ll be seeing Opening Night for “Cabaret”. I REALLY wanted to see the drama too, but what can you do. :-(

Hopefully, we’ll be able to set up some time to meet students & go to a class or two, though that will likely be challenging too since they’ll be in dress rehearsal and prep for opening. We’ll see how it works out.

If there are students not in Cabaret that might be available on those dates and if some parents will be around those dates as well, can you let me know? Thanks! You can PM me. :-)

I too, look forward to meeting you all and chatting!

oh and thank you for the great link Marianne! I’m going to look it up later and join! :-)

Thanks Pohsmom and Sarasmom. I needed a pep talk, too! And that other Webster housing letter did take 5 days to get here last week…

D does have a MT acceptance (thankfully!!), but she REALLY loved Webster when she visited. If she gets on the Waitlist for Webster, I think she will definitely wait to see what happens.

Sarasmom- my D is a freshman in MT and I can hook you up on FB or give you her number if you want to meet up, ask questions, whatever. I admit these kids are crazy busy, but I know she would welcome the chance to help you out.

Fingers crossed in California for all of you waiting.

Sure that would be great Seata! You can PM with the info. Thank you!

Well, today is the day for most of us. (we were told the letters were mailed out Monday) Geez…even my mailman is starting to feel sorry for me… I’ve turned into a Stalker, lol

and others who will be going to visit: be sure to contact admissions to arrange to have your kids “shadow” a conservatory student for the day. It’s done all the time and truly the best way to get a feel for the program as they will be given a conservatory student “buddy” (usually a freshman) and attend conservatory classes with them, meet the other students and some of the teachers. This is different from the general campus tour which you sign up for through the admissions dept. When my daughter visited as a HS senior the “shadow day” was arranged along with the campus tour through the admissions dept (but that was three years ago); you might need to check with conservatory to see if it’s still handled the same way. Conservatory classes are held daily regardless of show openings and rehearsals, so there will be plenty of students around to meet, talk to, attend classes with :)

My D didn’t receive anything today. Thanks for finding out when the letters were mailed :)

Discouraging news . . . my mail doesn’t come for another 2 hours – but I’ll keep hoping for the best. D got a call last night from one of her other options – wanted to know whether she had any questions or needed anything else to help her make a decision. It was really nice. They also offered to cover part of her airfare if she wanted to come back out to the school again. That just about sold the deal for her . . . she was very impressed that they made that effort. The longer it takes to hear from Webster, the more her mind may already be made up.

No from Webster. Unfortunate, but OK. Now we know, and she can make a decision from her other options.

Sorry to hear that IM. But she has some great options from one end of the US to the other! I wish her the best!

No from Webster. Off to Hartt and Muhlenberg next 2 weeks for a visit. I must say I am glad it’s over!
Good luck to everyone—looking forward to hearing of everyone’s successes in the future!

Pohsmom, I know what you mean! I’m sorry this didn’t work out, but wow she also has got great options! :)
