Decision Letters

Hii SmellyHarbour! (what? you found nothing better? :p)
I adore your other screen name!
Yes, I think I’ll be schooled for a long long time! Law school after college! So yes, GPA becomes really important.

Swat of course!!! I <3 Swat! (not that USC is a bad school)

I knoww. But it’s like grade deflation totally takes away the niceness. I bet grade deflation is the reason for their sub 50% yield. :frowning:

Good lord, you were lurking since then? embarrassed
Wait, “recurrent”? You were there during the first as well?? superembarrassed
I was wondering where you’d seen my posts!
Go to Stanford!!!

LOL, Smelly isn’t Tippu. :stuck_out_tongue: Smelly’s someone we all find very “nice”.

Hahah you got it Pixie! Ya I was pressed for time :stuck_out_tongue: but smellyharbour is not bad…reflects my city very well. If you wanted law school, how come you didn’t apply to NLS in India? I was thinking about law for a long time but finally I didn’t make the committment - couldn’t get past the long hours.

And Pixie is right, I’m not Tippu. But Tippu has the knack of coming up with some great screen names.

Ugh now my conflict has shifted from USC v.s. Swat to HKU vs Swat…it’s a never ending process no?

and therefore,

 This really stinks. :'(

PR: Just swat HKU out.

^I’m having stomach cramps from laughing. Oh god.

Smelly, I would have done NLS if i didn’t get in anywhere. Plus i didn’t want to confine myself to one discipline in undergrad itself. Law school is a very probable option after college, but we’ll see. Keeping all options open. If i end up choosing H, then I’ll maybe go to Woody woo after college. That’ll satisfy both my desires?

PS: Tippu! We <3 you too!! :D

^ I would’ve done Woody Woo too. So awesome…

From what I’ve read, Woody Woo –> Yale/Harvard Law is a very common path for future politicos. Are you interested in that?

Beats spending four years in Palo Alto with people whose sole goal in life is to land a job at Apple or Facebook.

^that’s probably the path I’d take. Yesterday i was on the harvard website for general course selection, and right at the top was a quote by woodrow wilson [no, this is not another opportunity 4 u 2 start ur harvard bashing again.].
I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Good times.

^ Woodrow Wilson was a racist and it was Kennedy’s presidency that triggered the move towards desegregation.

PD - I don’t have time to spar with you on that comment about people wanting to work for FB or Apple. That uppity side of you is very ugly.

I don’t understand why more people don’t know that. To be fair to him though, all elite school presidents of his time were racists.

Not really. You’ve got to give the credit to the Supreme court (Brown v Board of education). Kennedy’s presidency didn’t have much to do with desegregation.

I apologize if I offended you. I didn’t mean that as an insult to anyone… :/

Please ignore that comment.

Hhahaha that brightened up my mood. Argh I’m like a chaos pendulum, oscillating between my different choices. and yes, we <3 Tippu :stuck_out_tongue: OK ignorant question, but what is Woody Woo? I know that’s where Princess Mia went - is it the international relations school?

So how much does law school cost per year?

And I wish I coulda done Law School. Then I would have been able to do whatever the hell I want for undergrad- most probably CompSci/EE only haha.

PD your school seems to have people like me lol

I was merely pointing out the irony of my situation. I did not intend for my comment to mean that I held any admiration for the person.

Smelly: somewhat. The full name is Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. It’s an interdisciplinary major.

EDIT: Mia, as in Mia Thermopolis? From the Princess Diaries? No, Mia went to Sarah Lawrence which was SAT optional because she didn’t want to go to all the rest of the schools who obviously (coz of her aweful SAT score) wanted her only coz of her status as Princess of Genovia. The movie’s totally wrong.

I know, I meant Mia of the movie version. Haha I actually liked the movies better than the books, although the books did improve towards the end. Thought the books were a little too longwinded. Plus, the guy who plays Nicolaus is HOT! hhaa anyway back to your topic. So wait, are you going to Princeton or Princeton Woody Wilson school?

^Woody Woo’s part of Princeton. One can major from the Woody Woo school, but your undergraduate college is Princeton.
And no, I’m not yet sure what school I’m choosing.

I thought PD (I mean princess diaries of course!) were okay in the beginning (another reason why I found them okay was maybe coz I read those when I was 10), but the middle series were absolutely painful to read. So horrribly long and with zero storyline. But oh, I found the 10th and the last part so great, it was worth going through all those pages of boring literature (literature?). I’d been determined to finish the series just because. Yes, I was weird (was?).

I don’t even remember Nicolaus. I went for PD 2 with my mom. Can you imagine the embarrassment? I was like 12 or something. How in the world was I to know the movie was nothing like the book? That’s like a permanent scar on my mind. :p

Hahah I totally agree. Man the bit about the fruitflies and her over-the-top stereotypical best friends got to my brain. And they only span about 2-3 years so ten books is a LOT to pack in that time. I’m glad Mia and Michael finally got busy in the tenth part - it was a long time coming! Bahhahaa what was so embarassing about it? Some kissing scenes only, if I recall correctly.

Now in an effort to remain on topic…who’s acceptance packet was the best? I think Middlebury’s was the most informative.

^I don’t remember really. It’s just that I was 12, and I conveniently forgot to tell my mom that the movie was rated (A) in India before we bought the tickets.
(and yes, here in most cinemas they actually let you in w/o checking your age)

Harvard’s packet is the best for me. Very informative. We cannot really compare packets though since none of us got into all the same schools.

Haha, that’s cool. Are you planning on working in tech start-ups?

Interesting.

LOL @ Pixie haha well serve you right for not telling your mom, you rebel! jk I have never sneaked into any cinema underage but maybe now’s the time, in the last few months before I turn 18. LOL anyway forget my lame attempt at getting back on topic, just want to avoid getting throw out by the Higher Powers of CC.

Wait-listed Harvard
ok so you can get waitlisted even after blowing you interview…
I hate this …2 years of work down in drain just because you messed a 30 minute interview …

Haha smelly, I didn’t see anyone over 25 except for a few parents accompanying their kids at the cinema.
However, when I went for Black Swan a few weeks back, the person at the ticket counter did ask me for age proof, but he, like the rest, could be soft talked (innocently wide eyed No, I am 18!) into giving the ticket anyway. Plus my friends were above 18, so maybe that helped in convincing him that I’d ‘forgotten’ my ID. ;)
