I’m a current New Jersey resident and have been accepted to Fox school of business the past month. I’ve been trying to narrow down on schools that I would attend this upcoming fall and temple is definitely one of the schools that I am strongly considering. However, as an out of state student, the tuition is going to hit pretty hard financially for my family. (about 30k with all federal grants and loans subtracted) The other schools I have in mind are all out of state as well, and the tuition is pretty much the same to pay. I’m trying to decide whether or not Temple has a good enough business program for me to spend my next 4 years in and if it is worth taking in all the debt that I would be having if I were to go there.
The questions that I have for all of you are:
How diverse is Temple? (I’m a Korean-American and it would be somewhat comfortable in an environment where I go to a school with students with the same ethnicity.)
Is the business program really worth all the tuition? (I’ve been accepted to Rutgers, Baruch, and Albany. Those schools would definitely require less tuition to attend, and Rutgers and Baruch in particular can lower my family’s burden because of the proximity of the schools.)
- Are students in Temple active in club programs and other extra curricular activities? How is the campus life like?
Temple is known as having one of the most diverse campuses in the country. There are students of all ethnicities and countries. Plus it's in a big city so diversity is built right in.
Don't know much about Fox, but I've heard good things. It's definitely on the map as far as business schools go. How much less tuition are you talking about?
There are so many clubs and activities going on at the school all the time. It's not really a commuter school anymore. While a lot of students are from PA, since the state is so huge, they don't go home on the weekends as much as a Jersey student would at Rutgers.
Temple has everything you’re asking for but no school is worth havng alot of debt. If you’re instate for Rutgers, you should go there. If I didn’t receive the merit award I received at Temple, I 100% would be a Rutgers Business School student right now. Rutgers has all the requirements you mentioned and is extremely diverse with a large amount of international students. Have you visited Baruch? If you’re considering it please visit first because when I visited I thought it was pretty horrifying. The facility was terrible imo and I felt like the students were disconnected. I know nothing about Albany.
