Other than for Newhouse or the School of Art, why would someone pick Syracuse over Miami? I don't get it. Miami has much stronger school spirit, better sports' programs and MUCH better weather. In addition, they have just as great a choice of majors as that of Syracuse. The only programs that I like Syracuse over Miami for are communications, which is still not bad at Miami, and art and design, which is particularly strong at Syracuse.

that's exactly my reasoning, plus my major is supposed to be real strong at The U...the only difference will probably be the financial aid, as Cuse is supposed to give more than The U.

taxguy, perhaps money. If you do not have the top gpa, or sat score perhaps you can get some $$ from Syracuse. At Miami, top students get incredible merit aid (ie: 3/4 scholarship with reasonable requirements to keep it), but the less than stellar may do better at Syracuse.

lol. make sure i dress fly? why?

i heard syracuse is somewhat of a fashionable school. just somewhat.

yea when i visited it definitely seemed like it, then again the 2 friends i went to visit always stay fresh...i mean at any school its always a plus to be fly anyway.

Money (better financial aid package), social life (don't have the prada bag girls), location (not too far from home), are all reasons i'd pick Syracuse over Miami.

doubleg329 are u black??

and my kinda fly may be different from theres. i dont really do the way expensive name brand ****. im not a rich kid. and i herd theres alot of rich kids there. omg. this first year is gonna be...........interesting. its so different from what im used to.

nvm i just figured out that youre not. so whut high school did u go to that u say is so renouned?

nah im just a whiteboy who isn't like most whiteboys lol...i went to bronx science. i'm not a rich kid either...i dont go and spend mad $$ on clothes but i always make sure to dress good without spendin all of my cash. what is ur kind of fly by da way since i've never been to ATL before so im only used to the NYC style...

my style isnt ATL style either. nah ATL style is too ghetto. its...different. its kinda trendy kinda not. i always got one thing in my outfit thats kinda wierd.i try to make people go where'd u get that from. i shop everywhere from hot topic to old navy. it just depends on my mood. i herd of bronx science. why is it so good? is it a public school?

yea u take a test to get in there...its stuyvesant, bronx science & brooklyn tech...ur grades dont matter just how u do on the test. i hated it when i went but after goin thru it i realized that it was worth it.

why'd u hate it? alot of stuckup smart kids?

the commute since it was like an hour & a 1/2 each way and there was mad work...its one of the only places where you'll meet people who are mad smart but at the same time mad cool too though, so that's how i met a lot of the friends i have today. of course there were those stuck up smart kids and nerds but thats bound to happen

lol @ bound to happen. dont get mad at all the work. if you have to pass a test to get in u kno its gon be a whole lot of work. its funny how u say the word mad. so which school u goin to? miami? syracuse?

yea mad is a nyc thing...lol i don't know yet...if i get into miami i'm definitely going but i should find out in a few weeks

yea i kno mad is a new york thing. i just said it was funny........anywayz why do u think miami is better than syracuse??

doubleg329 - I got in Miami with a 3.63 and a 29, you're probably getting in there (I applied EA though). Didn't send any recs, essay wasn't that good.

overall its not even if i think a school is better than the other in general, but its definitely a better fit for me. it has one of the best sports management programs in the country (and they make you minor in business at the same time), there can be opportunities where i can work for their football/basketball teams and the Miami area in general would have more opportunities for internships, etc. plus having great weather doesn't hurt either

OMG, you're doing SM too!? SWEET! I got into Miami SM program. I'm thinking DEFINITELY the same as you, lol.

Syracuse's SM program is in it's first year, so not looking there, lol this is cool meeting kids with the same interests as you.
